Ok so the first night was BUSY but the best. Jack had to leave right after supper (we had only had Jorja for a few hours at this time). I had to take Gracie out for exercise so I had no choice but to leave Jorja her in her kennel. That sucked but I know that I can't not exercise Gracie. Long, tough day for Jorja to come on a 2. 5 hour trip and then a few more miles to our house...then a big dog and a cat and a kennel. Gosh! By 8 last night we were ready to sit quiet and play. And, they did pretty good.
We laughed, I cried. We peed and pooped and peed some more. Jorja knows her name no problem and is very good to pee outside. We take her about every 20 minutes if she is active or once she has layed still for a while we go out right away. She doesn't pee much but she knows exactly what she is supposed to do. Only a few little accidents so far. Looks like she will train fairly well. There is a little dynamic where we don't really want Gracie to come out with us because it distracts. They just want to break into chase or play. Gracie is only a year and a half so she is like a big pup too. So we keep Gracie in so that Jorja can here us praise her etc. Then, we have to take Gracie out - to keeep it equal, even though she doesn't have to go pee, she goes out and checks out all over to see where Jorja did the business.
We have both kennels in our bedroom (very sexy and romantic) and Jorja didn't really settle easily. We gave her a nice hot water bottle and some soft cushy blankets. Went to bed at about 10:30 and we were up at 1 and again at 4 am. When we put her back in the kennel at 4, she was not very happy and we let her cry for a while - that was tough, but finally she gave in and slept till 6. So, yep busy but it only lasts for a little while. Today was just silly becuase I could barely concentrate on getting anything done! I am running out of room. I type too much an just got an error message. Best wishes tomorrow!!!
Hi Jane - Mia is a standard doodle and a first cross. Her mother is a golden retriever and father a black standard poodle. It is the mothers first litter. Thanks for the advice I will contact the breeder.
Thank you! I was so excited to create my profile and then down the computer went. I'm back in business here but operating at a snails pace- I love all of your photos! Looking at these little guys is addictive :)
Oh, that is awesome! And the pool is hysterical. Our new baby is in a pool too. Even though he is lighter than the rest of them, I think he looks darker than Gracie...he'll be a beautiful colour. When is Easter...our girl (we think her name will be Jorjia) should come here around April 16th..here's a picture of our pup ith her siblings...this was taken when she was two weeks old. I could just blab and blab...:)
