A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Tomorrow Elliott will have his surgery by the new vet to remove the lump in his neck. I hope it goes well. I am so worried that we have spent several months "watching" it as the previous vet recommended, and it may turn out to be more than a cyst after all. I will have difficulty coming to terms with it if we shouldn't have waited. Thought I would feel better if our doodle friends were out there supporting us. Thanks, and we'll let you know tomorrow.

Oh Kathy darn it! I'm so sorry I've gotten so far behind. I'm glad that all went well with Elliott. Wishing him a speedy recovery. Pemon send a big hug to his sweet cousin Elliott.

Dianne, vet couldn't say what type of cyst. It was multi-compartmental and each little pocket had different characteristics. Vet said poodles are often prone to "atypical" cysts. However there was nothing that really had hallmarks of cancer. Very strange, but good information for us to know.

Oh Kathy, I'm sorry I missed the start of this and at the same time, relieved that I am catching it as it has resolved itself in a funny and 'explosive' way. We are very happy that Elliott is home, resting (?) and that the new vet dealt with things to your satisfaction.

Dear Cousin Elliott, get well soon, let your Mommy, Daddy, Spencer and human puppies that visit sometimes cuddle you and spoil you to bits. I'm sure Cousin Spencer will take really good care of you. We love you very much and we are soooo happy that you're OK and that your neck cyst won't be bothering you more. Loving paws from Cousin Pedro

So glad to hear the news, Kathy!  And have to admit I had an "lol" moment about the exploding cyst!  I bet Elliott feels MUCH better.  Was it what we call a sebaceous cyst?  Those things occur in people, too, and run in my family (yeah, I know, "eeewww"!)and although they are a huge annoyance, they are relatively benign.  Elliott, Buddy, you have my sincere empathy and I know you'll be back to normal in no time!

Just brought my boy home. He has about a 6" sutured incision and a huge shaved area in his beautiful coat :( . The vet said he felt comfortable not sending it away for testing, but if any more come up, he would definitely send in. He said sometimes poodles have cysts that can be malignant, but he thinks it's ok for now. He did keep the growth for me to see when I went in as I requested, and he came out to speak with me when I picked Elliott up. So I guess we have a new vet :)
Other than obvious, Elliott is ready for the shenanigans to begin Jackson - great idea. He tried to chase the vet's office kitty on his way out. Dr. Spencer is already gearing up for wound cleaning and suture removal.
Thanks doodle friends.

Yippee, Hoorah, and Halleluiah!!!!  I am VERY happy to hear about the "explosion", since that means cyst, not tumor!!! Anybody who's had kids or dogs won't be bothered by the description! ;) I am so happy and relieved to hear that all is well!  You (and Elliot!) will sleep better tonight!!! :)
