A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Rainy day + energetic puppy = one high energy household by the time we were all home from work and school.  Had meal from stuffed kongs, drug mom and sister for potty runs in pouring rain, finally mom put puppy on the treadmill and played some training games.  Now it is almost 10 and nearing bedtime and puppy looks sleepy.

Big day tomorrow at the vet for neutering.  Weighed in last week at 28 pounds at 19 weeks of age. (still quite bony).  With much leadership from mom has walked around the neighborhood (still resists, but we work through that).

Have a great weekend!

His head looks like it is swimming in that cone.  He looks so different as a puppy than now.

Glad to hear everything went good.  We had the cone on Pemon because he is such a sneak - he does things when he knows we are not looking, that little devil - The Gentle Giant!

Howie is recovering nicely with minimal attention to his incision.  Have not had to cone him.  Our post-op instructions were for quieter behavior for 1 week and incision check appt 10 days post-op.  I have to remind my kids as much as puppy to keep it down, my middle daughter has the roll of running him around everyday and she forgets we are taking a few days off from that job.

Sandi, how did Howie's surgery go?  Is all O.K.  I'll tell you that Pemon lives for rainy days.  I don't know which he enjoys most - standing or walking in the rain or being dried off when he comes in.  He loves to play with the towel, he thinks it's a game.  They are so much fun though!

Yeah, good luck with keeping a doodle "calm"............ Hank had one of those awful collars. Just make sure the incision is healing and use your own good judgement.

I hope all is well with Howie! I hate rain days because my doodles still think we should go outside and play!

How did Howie's surgery go Sandi?  Good luck keeping him calm for the next 14 days, that wil be a challenge! Give him a hug from me!

Rainy days = cabin fever. Hours of throwing the ball down the hall and bring it back plus tug of war. Endless energy. Good luck on the neutering.

I agree with the keeping quiet part...when Jaxon was neutered, I took him out for a potty break and took off for an spirited walk in the woods behind the house.

Here's to a quick and speedy recovery for Howie's neuter surgery!  Chances are, the Vet will tell you to keep him quiet much longer than he will want to be, lol ;)

Have a great weekend and let us know how Howie's doing.
