We are back. What a month this has been.

Me and Mommy are back. We've had quite a month so far but everyone is slowly getting back to normal. Daddy's brother, Dave (I never met him but Chessie remembers him really well) has been very sick this past year and passed away on March 1st in Georgia. Mommy had been planning a trip to Florida and Daddy was going to stay home with us but everything changed and we had to go to the kennel while everyone went south for the funeral. Mommy and Daddy have been very sad and me and Chessie missed them very much but everyone is home now. Mommy got sick while she was away and hasn't been much fun since she got back, coughing and everything, but she says she is getting better. We are patiently waiting for Spring but we still have lots of snows and cold weather. Mommy says she really tried to bring the 85 degree and sunny weather back with her but it didn't follow her. It will take me a while to catch up with everyone here. We missed our doodle family! Hope everyone is well. Pemon, get well soon!

Just a quick note, my Mom pulled out of a nasty infection last week and is back at the nursing home with my Dad. Amazing the resilience of the elderly. Nonetheless we can see a lot of decline in both of them. On a good note, we're all back and happy. Eli has had his spring cut already and the weather is warming up. Still lots of snow out there.

Thanks JoAnn. Both of my parents are in a nursing home, together (that was a feat). Both have dementia. My father doesn't know me anymore but is fairly healthy, has a good appetite and sleeps. He is 91. My mom is 90 but she has been in decline for quite a few months and not easy to handle. The nursing home requested she be moved to another facility where she could be sedated. She isn't well and isn't eating. However, now she is in the hospital being treated for a uti so we have no idea how this will go. She's a stubborn sort. So I'm headed down today to help out sis.

So sorry, Beverly...more sad times for you. No matter how old our parents are, it's never easy to say goodbye. Sending prayers and hugs.

As it turns out I am headed to Pennsylvania for my 90 year old mother who has declined considerably. We don't think she will make it through the week although she has a lot of tenacity. Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

Oh. So sorry for your loss . . . Give Eli extra loves and hugs. Doodles have a knack for soothing sadness.

Thanks everyone! So nice to be back to a normal schedule and waiting for spring. Ready for the snow to be gone gone gone. My husband had a rough go 'round with this but we remember good times with family and his brother. My cough and cold (nasty one) is finally on it's way out. Hurry Spring!

Oh Eli, we are so glad that everything is Normal now and Mommy and Daddy are back and you and Chessie are no longer in the kennel.  I've not been in touch as much as I should but am trying to get better.  Pemon is all well as far as we can see.  Thank you for asking.

We send our sincere sympathy for brother Dave.

Beverly I hope you get well soon.

Dear Eli, glad to hear from you but sad to hear about your Uncle Dave and your Mommy and Daddy's sadness. Please give our hugs and loving paws to your Mommy and Daddy and we also hope that Auntie Beverly is feeling betters. My Mommy has also been coughing (they sound funny when they cough, don't they?) but we had barely any Winters here in the Springs is also here for sure. You and Chessie take care. We love you all! - Pedro

So sorry Eli to hear about your daddy's brother Dave. That is very sad. But I'm glad that you, Chessie and Mommy and Daddy are all back home. Hope your mommy's cough is better soon so she will be able to share fun times with all of you. Happy Spring!!
