A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

So now Gizmo is 6 months old and becoming a WONDERFUL pal & companion for both of us.  He is learning new things so quickly.  One thing is a new found interest in is the toilet.  We have caught him slurping in both toilets a couple of times in the last week or so.  We try to keep the lid down, but if he finds it up and doesn't have anything better to do (I guess), he slurps it up.  Silly dog!

WHY do dogs do that?  Uck!

That's right Jo, they all do it.  We keep the lid down.  Get this, my niece in CT. insists the lid be up so her dog can get to the water.   Yuk!  Different strokes for different folks.

I'm glad to know Gizmo is not the only one doing this.  We do keep the seats down and I never use any of the "leave in" toilet bowl cleaner tablets.  I've never had a dog tall enough to drink out of the toilet.  LOL!

It's the magic water bowl Jo!

All 3 of my dogs drink out of the toilet, heck I've caught my cats doing it too.

I have a drinking fountain for all of them and they still do it. I have just learned to never use anything harmful in the toilets and have gotten use to wiping the seat before I sit or I'll have a wet butt.

They all do it. The only thing to do is keep the lid down or keep the door shut. And DON'T use leave in toilet cleaners, because the dog will inevitably sneak a drink when someone forgets to close the door or shut the lid, and you don't want Gizmo drinking poison.

How about closing the bathroom doors it works wonders, just saying. LOL

LOL. .....  Becaue they can.     I replaced the water bowls with cermanic bowls and it did help.   But Charlie stills checks the bath tub daily as the extreemly slow drip makes it neccesary to lap up.
