Suggestions Needed for Yard Repair

Ok ... so we have a dog.  We knew our yard would "suffer" for a while.  Gizmo became part of our family last October.  We weren't worried about the yard at that time, but knew that this Spring we would have to do something to help it.

The problem is the urine burns.  We had a beautiful yard until Gizmo.  We knew it would happen and that we would have to deal with it.  My question is .... does anyone know of a way to repair the yard or help it to not burn everytime he pees on it?

Thanks.

Yeah, Mark shovels buckets quite often.

If Sunny Ray's nose isn't to the ground, it's IN the ground. HAHAHA! Yeah, between Sunny Ray and Justan, my yard looks like a war zone.

Oh YEAH!  The mine fields are a whole other story.  But ... what goes in has to come out, right?  LOL  Gizmo would probably eat pellets too, if they stuck around long enough.  Or ... he'd snort them.  He's always got his nose to the ground.  Sure can tell he's got Retriever in him.

Oops, I mean "mine fields".

I have heard soak it immediately.  I don't know what Mark does, but Pemon only uses the back yard, so no one can see it.    Jo, you can't even imagine how much Pemon can pee and the "mind fields".  Woo!

You know, Mitzi, I almost did consider it.  But then I looked at Gizmo and said to myself "WHAT are you thinking?  He weighs 60# ... do you KNOW how much he can pee?"  LOL  Good question about the pellet gypsum.  I'm thinking maybe Home Depot or Lowes will have it.  Or maybe a lawn care place.

I had visions of Jo running around the yard with a watering can. HAHAHA! Sorry... :) But glad this was brought up. Where do you find pellet gypsum?

We have underground sprinkling, so I hope that helps.  When he came to us, it was fall and they sprinkling system was turned off soon after he came.

I use pellet gypsum instead of the lime.  Tried lime once, and it blew around in the breeze too easily and inhaling it was not good.

Another suggestion is to having a watering can at the ready, and add water where they pee.  Yeah right, lol ;)
