I saw an older post on this site that mentioned "The Missing Link" supplement...did some research, and ordered Missing Link Well Blend * Food Sensitive * Skin Coat & More * Balanced Omega 3 & 6 Plus Probiotics.  Would like to hear anyone's experience with The Missing Link products.  I have read many reviews & all are very positive.  I mix it with Piper's dry food (Kirkland's Nature's Domain Grain Free Salmon & Sweet Potato)...add a little warm water, stir & she gobbles it up (;  Just started using it 2 days ago.  We have tried Kirkland's other grain free kibble, but the chicken & beef flavors seem to give her an itchy bum hole ):  Recently, I have noticed that she has started licking her paw...not sure if it's an allergy, or the sticky things that are falling off of our tree that stick to her paws.   She will be 3 years old in about a week...when she was about 1 1/2, I noticed that she had a round spot on each side of her upper rump where her hair had turned a reddish color (each spot is directly next to the base of where her tail starts)...her whitish yellow colored hair has turned reddish from her licking in those areas...when I am standing behind her, those 2 spots look like eyes & her tail looks like an elephant trunk (;  Anyway, I trimmed the hair on those two spots & saw a few pimple like bumps & some dry skin...only in those 2 areas, nowhere else.  Been like that ever since...the bumps will heal & reappear somewhere else within that approximately 2 inch area on each side of her rump.  so far, she has never had fleas or ticks & we have never given her any preventive flea or tick treatments, so I know it's not an allergic reaction to either of those things.  Her vet has checked these areas & does not seem concerned, but had me switch her to a grain free food...which I did a little over a year ago.  Thought I would give The Missing Link a try before a return trip to her vet...she gets car sick & it's always stressful for her to go in the car ):   The only shampoo we use on Piper is a hypo-allergenic sensitive skin formula that is biodegradable.  I would appreciate any input?  Thank you...Lorie (:

Missing Link is awesome. Harrison has been enjoying it for the past 6 months. His coat is so thick that the poor groomer has to use 2 blades to cut him. Also his skin is great. We have a chlorine pool and he swims almost everyday and no dry skin. His coat also has more oil in it so there has been no matting and knots when his hair is long. He loves Missing Link and in fact won't eat without it. Make sure you keep it in the fridge.. Hope you have the same success as we have.

Lorie, Dulcie has just developed that reddish look to the hair on her bum, but it only happened after she was groomed last time.  Could be she is developing allergies, too.  I might try the grain free salmon for her also if it gets any worse, but am just going to watch it for right now. Glad to see this info, though, and will share anything new that comes up!

Hi Laura (:  Piper's anal glands are good...I noticed that when we tried the Kirkland chicken grain free & Kirkland beef grain free, her bum hole itched...switched to Kirkland salmon grain free & she no longer scratches at her bum hole with her teeth...yikes, that sounds awful.  not sure what the 2 spots on her rump are about...altho, I know it isn't related to her anal glands.  I'm hoping that missing link helps...the reviews & what I have read about the supplement sure are encouraging.  BTW...marley is super adorable...he looks like a big Piper...piper weighs 40 lbs (:

The only shampoo that I use on Marley is oatmeal shampoo, have you tried it ? No skin problems with it. He also eats Kirkland chicken and sweet potato grain free food. Hope she gets better. Has her anal glands been expressed?
