A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

I was hoping to get a goldendoodle puppy that has been raised so to speak.  I hear puppy culture is a good program if you can find a breeder that uses it.  I found and want to know if its a good program that is implemented.

$2300 for a puppy whose parent's hips have not been tested.

For a "1 year health guarantee with option to expand to 2 years" - what does that even mean? They charge extra for 2 years?

A good breeder would be expected to provide a 2 year health warranty. And, would also mention hip testing (cannot be done by DNA, only by x-ray test - several options available, PennHip being one). Ideally, their contract spelling out what the guarantee or warranty covers would be available on the website.  You must be able to read that document before committing. Some only cover death, some are otherwise equally restrictive, some even require you return your puppy in exchange for another from a future litter... Those that require return of the puppy are counting on you becoming attached and wanting to treat whatever ails the puppy, so they won't honor it. We call those non-guarantee guarantees - not worth the paper they're written on.

I am not familiar with this breeder, so I'm only responding to what I see / don't see on their website.

The other thing you need to know is that the parents are both F1s (first generation cross between a retriever and a poodle). Breeding 2 F1s together can result in puppies that are almost entirely retriever or entirely poodle, or anything in between. If shedding and allergies are not an issue for you, then this may be an ok option. However, if you want a more predictable outcome, a first generation cross or a F1B (F1 x Poodle) is a better choice.
