Predicted Adult Size/Weight? - Murphy 4 mths 28lbs

Hi everyone,

Our Murphy just turned 4 months old yesterday and he is 28 lbs. Some people have said he's small for his age, others say he's going to be huge. Just wondering what other people's goldendoodles weight have been at 4 months and if he's on his way to being a big boy or not.

His mom was a golden retriver and his dad a standard poodle. Both parents were around 60lbs and Murphy has pretty big paws. Would love to hear how large other goldendoodles are at this age and what to expect in the upcoming months. We are hoping for a big boy :) Thanks so much!!

Soba my goldendoodle weighed 13 lbs at 8 weeks and 28 lbs at 4 months. She is 13 months old now and weighs 56 lbs, she hasn't put on any weight in over 3 months. She has enormous paws that my husband said she was going to be 80lbs. and her paws still look way big for her, I think she got mostly poodle features (she's 50/50) but she got the golden retriever paws making them look out of proportion to the rest of her.

Hey from Nickie and his mom...Nickie was 36 pounds at 41/2 months and had gained 10 pounds in one month. Sounds like your puppy is in the same ball park...I have to update Nickie's picture as he has changed so much in a few months.

Thanks Judy! Your pup is super cute, and what a great name! I just realized a couple of weeks ago that I had Murphy's age wrong by a couple of weeks when I first posted this blog. I had him older than he really was, not sure how I managed to do that lol. Our Murphy just turned 5 months old on October 9th and he was 40lbs. It is definitely fun to watch them grow :) Keep in touch!

What a cute puppy! My Nickie was born 5/20 and weighed 28.6 pounds at the end of August. He too has big paws and the breeder thought he would be a 60 pounder.

Here is what our vet told us. She said a good rule of thumb would be to double the four month weight. but she also said that you could take the both adult weights and divide by 2 which would be 60 lbs, in your case...but then...she also said that in all litters that there can be bigger than norm and or runts. So, you're right back to where you started, right??!! LOL OUr girl dog had about the same size parents and she weighed 28 lbs also at 4 months - she is now 10.5 months and weighs about 56 pounds. Aren't the biggest dudes beautiful? Maybe you get lucky and he'll grow to be a giant guy. Grow Murphy grow! :)

Thanks Blue. I did see that chart, thank you. I was just curious what other owners doodles weigh at 4 months old and than as an adult. Just to compare. Do you remember what yours weighed at 4 months?
