A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Hi All,

Some of you may be like me, having to pick up after your dog as soon as they, ahem, poop.

I started out with the bags sold specifically for this purpose.  I found I had a problem with them being so narrow, that I had trouble picking up the poop (my hands are too big?!?).  I also objected to the price.

Here's the bags I buy - the 7 x 12":

Even with shipping, you should be able to get 3 boxes (3000 bags) for around $100, or about $0.033 per bag.

Hope this helps,

I don't think it's so much the bag you're using just that you get the job done.

I'm the same way with keeping the yard as poop-free as possible. Nothing worse than stepping in a poop! For some reason I could never stand using bags to clean up though. I guess I just feel too squeamish.
When we first got Maple, I got one of those plastic poop scoops with the plastic teeth on the edge, and I had such a hard time picking up ALL of it. Hubby came up with an idea to make it a little easier: he saw one day that I tossed our old Swiffer mop that I never used. He decided to invent a little 'scraper' out of the long handle part by taking off the mop head and attaching a small, flat piece of metal on the mop head end to help pull the poop into the scooper - like a broom and dust pan. It works unbelievably well, haha!
My hubby leaves all of the poop clean up to me. Your post makes me wonder if the reason he doesn't participate is because the bags are a little too small for him as well? He has really big hands! I'll bring this up when he comes home, thanks for the idea!
