A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Our new baby will be coming home next week. Any suggestions or helpful tips we should follow right away? We do plan on crate training and having him sleep in his crate, in our room. Any certain products, toys, must have gadgets?

His name is Hamilton and he is such a good baby. The only major issue we are having is the puppy biting. We are trying to just redirect but when you turn your back he bites your clothes and has ripped a few of my work tops and also friends clothing. I am ready for this phase to pass.

take a towel and rub on mom and or other litter puppies to be placed into crate.  Ignore winny 1st night.

We also plan to have him sleep in his crate.. our goal is for free range of house lol but I've read two books and researched so much in the past 4 weeks preparing for him, I think it's like 1year to 18 months before they can be trusted!

We were #4 for puppy picks... The pup we were deadset on ended up being #3's choice, but I'm so glad because the one we ended up with I think is more of a fit for us (temperament testing), and honestly he's cuter! Lol

Our mini goldendoodle puppy comes home next week too! We have a crate, lots of Chew toys (Kong's and no stuffing), collar and leash, water and food bowls, brush, nylabone (teething), ordered life's abundance dog food yesterday so it should be here before we pick him up, raised dog bed (off brand of kuranda), we signed him up for puppy classes he starts June 11th! I'm excited to spend the summer break training and playing with our new family member!

Congrats!  I bet you can't wait!  Did you pick a name yet?

You can check out this for some puppy tips to get you started

Kongs are always go to have for chewing.  Watch out with stuffed animals; usually things sticking out like ears/tails/eyes get chewed off easily and they can choke.  I found that bathing and grooming time was good for bonding.  Gentle shampoo or just water and a soft brush for now.   Touching them all over is good for them to get used to.  My Picco still doesn't care for his feet being touched but he puts up with it!
