New here! Hello Fellow Doodle lovers! Lots of ?'s if yall dont mind! :)

Hi everyone!! :)

I am so very HAPPY to have found this site! I was actually refferred to this site by a lady who responded to my add with any information on Labradoodles and said I could get lots of really great information on here. From what I've read so far on these gorgeous wonderful dogs I am thinking I want a 3rd generation Doodle. I am leaning more towards the chocolate or caramel colored ones. This dog is mainly going to be for my son, but for me as well. I want this dog to be his protector but also his very best friend as he is an only child. And since I am a stay at home mother, I would love to have a personal relationship with our new family member as well. From the research I've done this is the perfect breed for our family. I want more of a curly one. I hope I dont sound too picky, lol. I know they are water dogs and my son has always always enjoyed the water as well! :)

And with my son I know our new family member will get lots of needed and wanted exercise. We also walk everyday even without a dog. I will prob put our pup in obedience classes and have my son join in so he can learn with us on how the training process is supposed to be done to reach a better behaving pup!

I live in Louisiana and so far I havent been able to find any local breeders. I hope this lovely lady that referred me here can help me with this. I want it to be a reputiable breeder but also not outrangous in the price either.

So tell me, where can I find a local breeder and what I need to know that isnt usually posted about this gorgeous loving breed? Also. I am still not sure if I want a Standard (large sized) Doodle or a medium sized.

On the other hand, I spent 4 1/2 on petfinder, filled out all info they asked for including Vet info and the only time I received a call concerned any dog I was willing to train was posted 9 yrs before.... I became discourage with Petfinders and local SPCA.   I walked into Petland 'just' to see..  I purchased 1st Charlie for a 5 yr old grandboy... 700$$, with discount on 2nd  purchase,  Izzi was 1100$$, plus new bedding, and food for the 2 days, I spent 2400.   I fully understood the types of canines I was bring home... nor were they necessarily a spur of the moment purchase.  The 2400 included full Vet bills up to 3 months and discounted spaying.   I took the puppies OUT of the small box they use to show prospective buyers.  I wanted only to see if the tracked correctly as I did not want to buy a medical issue no matter how 'cute' they were.

I've just recently found a few other sites that have litters available now and you actually get to pick the one you want!!! I cant remember which one it was or how I found her. I remember reading that she was also assosiated with this site. You can google Labradoodle breeder and she is in W. Monroe its something Sanctuary I think??? I just wish it werent so much money but it seems as if it will be well worth the price. My son and I have been looking at pictures of the doodles off and on all day and we're getting soooo impatient

Sorry I am just getting back to you! Things have been crazy. I was looking at the breeder in W. Monroe but there is another in MS but I didnt save that email. At this moment I'm not quite ready for one. The breeder in W. Monroe said she would have a litter a lil after the first of the year. By then I would be more than ready for our new family member, and we are BEYOND excited!!!! :)

Awesome! I live in DS actually. And yes, they are VERY hard to find. I cant get one right this second. I have to wait a couple of months so I was looking for a litter that is about to be born but i'm not really liking some of the things that are required... like you dont get to pick, the breeder picks which one you get... kinna odd to me?
