Oh what good news!  Glad it's just normal puppy coat change and not something to worry about!

As Laurie said - enjoy the puppyhood, it's a blast!

So glad it all worked out so well Karen!!!!  Doodles coats are a funny thing and they can change frequently in first 3 years or so......So glad you are able to fall head over heals in love with him!!!!!!!  Enjoy every minute of goes too fast!!

You are so nice to ask!  Vet told me that he is ABSOLUTELY fine.  He told me that he is losing his puppy coat.  It is typical that they loose it along the spine first.  His new coat is going to be darker and not so fluffy.  I cannot begin o tell you how relieved I am.  Now I am free to fall head over heals in love!

Thank you Lorie for so much information. I also believe in supplements. What do you think I should start with? My puppy is in the process of transitioning from the food he was sent with to earth balance

don't remember when piper lost her puppy hair...although, i remember that her hair never thinned. lots of things can cause hair loss:  shedding the puppy hair...fleas...allergies...nutrient/vitamin deficiency...and the list goes on ):  when piper was having skin issues, i stopped bathing her so much, and when i do, i hardly ever use shampoo...i just give her a good rinsing...she always looks clean & doesn't smell.  i also started putting fish oil & supplements in her food.  i've tried many supplements, and settled on Dinovite supplements...piper loves the taste & let me tell you, i have noticed that her coat feels & looks took weeks to notice a difference, but it is worth it. Dinovite is a wonderful product & they offer a full refund if not satisfied. dry kibble dog food, loses many nutrients/vitamins during the cooking process...i'm a real believer in supplementing if feeding kibble.  i buy the big box of Dinovite supplement for giant's spendy, but lasts a super long time...piper weighs 40 lbs, so i put one rounded tablespoon of supplement in her kibble...she gets fed 2 times a day, so she gets a total of 2 tablespoons total per day.  i also add some water to her food & supplement cuz it kind of makes a gravy...not hot water because that will cause the dinovite supplement to be inactive.  i give piper the fish oil that i take...put the gel cap in with her food and she doesn't even notice (:  also try to feed a good quality food that is lower carb...carbs don't agree with many dogs.  we order from, no tax or shipping charges (: piper loves Earthborn holistic great plains feast, it's grain free and very low daughter's dog loves this food too...both dogs have done really well with this kibble and their issues have improved dramatically...good price for such a high quality food.  Poodle mix dog's seem to have a higher chance of having skin issues ):  our vet is a family friend...and, my friend's daughter is in vet school, so i try to run everything by them.  you would be surprised at how little vets know about nutrition...what they learn about it, is usually from the dog food companies pitching their products ): i believe many issues are caused by what we feed our dogs...same goes for humans...good in = good out (;  good luck with your adorable puppy (:

Have you asked his Vet about it?  That would be the first thing I would do.
