A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Tanner joined our family one week ago and already has brought so much joy into our lives! He is so cute I want to snuggle with him all the time but as far as puppies go, that only lasts a short while since he has other things he thinks he needs to explore.

We have owned Golden Retrievers in the past and still have Kaylee our red golden who is 10 years old. We recently lost our male Golden (also 10), Tucker to Cancer. I always admired the Goldendoodle and had a close interaction with one last winter. We knew then a Golden doodle as in our future. I love Golden's with all my heart but oh my the hair!! Tucker shed the equivalent of a large puppy on a daily basis!  We researched Goodendoodles and knew one would fit into our life very easily.

Tanner is a very loveable puppy always giving us tons of puppy kisses. He is very intelligent and in one weeks time has learned to come, sit and getting close to being potty trained. From the very first night we had him he has slept in his crate without any complaints and waits to go out till morning. Guess he knows his mommy needs her sleep after chasing him all day to remove things from his mouth! Everything goes in his mouth so I am constantly removing rocks, leaves, sticks and grass! Even though he finds himself in trouble every now and then and keeps us on our toes, Tanner is a keeper! He IS a member of our family!

Gosh...I almost thought my husband had wrote this if you were to insert Quincy for Tanner's name!  We've had our goldendoodle two weeks and he is absolutely wonderful.  He has slept in his crate since the first night and just goes in without a whimper and sleeps nearly all night...usually around five in the morning he needs to go outside.  But, then he comes back to bed with us and will snuggle for a very long time...we have to drag him out of bed!  We have two female golden retrievers, Millie (12) and Katie (2).  Quincy and Katie play a lot, but Millie even gets in for some fun each day.  As your Tanner is a keeper, so is our Quincy.  Enjoyed reading your post. You mention that Tanner gives you tons of kisses.  I'm jealous!  For whatever reason, Ginger does NOT kiss...don't know if its generic or had been trained out of her.  I'll put my face right in her's, but she'll turn away.  (do I need a new mouthwash ?....I don't THINK so..Ginger eats deer poop !)

Fear not, tho...I'm working on it !

Tanner is a good looking boy! And will be a handsome adult when fully grown.  Have fun as they grow so fast.  Mine is almost 8 months now and full of beans!
