A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Hi Everybody,

My name is Luke and this is my friend, Snickerdoodle.  She’s really not a doodle and she doesn’t talk much, but she seems nice enough and is really soft, so I think I’ll let her stay.

I just got home for the first time.  It took forever for my mom to pick me up and then she put me in this thing that looked like a square bird cage, so I couldn’t get out while we drove home.  She is going to need a lot of training, I can tell that already.  There are lots and lots of books and DVDs lying around the house telling her what to do to “raise me the right way.”  One puppy kiss was all it took for her to forget all she learned and just give me what I needed.  Food, water, a walk, a soft bed, scratches behind my ears and a nap.  She still thinks I am going to sleep in that funny bird cage while she gets the soft bed.  I might go along with that for a couple weeks, but it’s a big bed and I want my half.  I might suggest that Snickers gets the bird cage and then she will probably be okay with the idea.

Well, time for another walk to meet another neighbor and then a nap.  It’s hard work being a puppy, but it’s good to be here and I can tell my mom likes me because she smiles a lot.  I will send you a report from time to time and let you know how her training is coming!

Luke (but my mom keeps forgetting and calling me Jake, so I’m not sure)

PS:  I already found a great big stick and scared away a squirrel.  I think I'm going to like it here.

Thanks, Everybody.  My mom did really good by finding all you guys on the Internet before I even came home and did it for her!  Pedro, I know for sure you are my bestest cousin ever...  (but don't tell the others because I don't want them to be jealous.)  It has just been busy here since I got home.  Today while we were walking, just in the neighborhood, we ran into two really big dogs that live around here.  I walked right up to them with my tail wagging and they both hid behind their mommies, with their tails between their legs.  It was kinda fun...  Jo Bill, I am not going to tell my mom about the surgery I plan to perform on Snickerdoodle.  I have already knocked her over a couple times and chewed on her ear a little bit.  She's cute, but not doing her job well and I don't think she will be around long.  The TV cable she was supposed to be protecting came out of the wall the first time I pulled on it today.  And even I don't know how I got past her to do it.

Well, back to work.  So many things to smell and chew before I go to bed.  At least my mom can remember to call me Luke, so that's a start!  If there is anything else I need to know, please let me know.  We have to stick together in all of this...

Welcome to out playtime community,  Luke (or Jake).  You are very sweet. I'm glad you are making your new family so happy already.   Be careful with snickerdoodle though.  Someone we Doodles get a little playful...bored. ..crazy or whatever and we experiment on our stuffie friends by doing surgery on them.   Snickerdoodle is a pretty big stuffie. might take you a while.

Diane. .....I love your description...."love sponge" ...... hahahahahahahha!

Welcome to your new home Cousin Luke! (can you be my cousin? - I hope so!) You have a pawsome Mommy as you already say on your blog post. And I love, LOVE Snickerdoodle! He looks like a good friend to cuddle with! Mommy wants me to tell you that you are super adorable and I think you are very handsome tiny little doodle, but we are both sure that you will grow up to be a very handsome young boy, like me. When I was your age and size, Mommy would take me for neighbourhood walks but she made sure that I didn't sniff or pick up anything from the grass or didn't meet new puppy friends very closely until I had all my shots, I think that's what Auntie Grace said below. Other than that, I agree that being a puppy is hard work, but it's also a lot of fun and training humans is amazing! You will see the things you get them to do, the treats you get them to give...! Enjoy!

I send you and Auntie Barbara loving paws and Mommy sends you and your Auntie Barbara a big hug!

We're so happy to meet you!

See Pemon was that way too.  I think I've mentioned it before.  We put newspaper by the back door, then right outside the back door in the screened room and then right outside the screened room  Wah La.

This has been his "safe place" ever since he walked in the front door.  The motivation was to get all the cords, books, etc. behind it so there is not much left he can get hurt on, but he claimed it as his own.  Every now and then I really get lucky, in spite of myself...  He has not had one accident in the house, which is amazing!!!  They truly do come all trained and all we do is have fun.

I meant be careful about taking him out in public.    And Smickerdoodle is a cute name, not a cut name.

God, what's wrong with me?  I'm starting to act like Laurie.  LOL

Oh Barbara.  I like Luke.  Very masculine!  He's a darling.  He will never outgrow that Teddy Bear.  Cut name too I like snickerdoodle.  Now Barbara because about taking him out in public until he gets all his shots.  The other members will fill you in.  We didn't know we were suppose to wait and Pemon was 10 weeks old (which is older then Luke or Jake LOL)  I guess we were lucky.  Look at that beautiful bed he has.  I see other toys too, but it looks like Snickers is his best friend.  LOL  Good luck and Pemon asked if he could send a special gift welcoming Luke home and I told him he could, so be on the look out.

Hugs, Pemon & Grace

Thanks. He is the best dog I have ever had in my life. It's like he came all trained knowing what to do...
