A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

I saw a goldendoodle today and fell in love. I need info on good breeders. Also, I would appreciate anyone telling me their experience on shedding. The 3 month olds I was looking at today shed pretty much. Does this end as they get older. I appreciate any info. I know they would be a great dog. I had a poodle and love goldens.

yes, I realize that's not the correct lingo for describing breeding of the parents, but it's been a while since I had to know that, Dreamer is 2 now.

I have a G2 Doodle (both mom and dad are G1 Doodles with separate breed parents). Mine never sheds. He cuddles up in bed right next to my nose and not a fluff, not a hair.

TRDoodles has several cream, black, and chocolate F1, F1b, and F3b puppies ready for their families around Valentines Day. Contact me at and we can talk about shedding issues and such.

We have one goldendoodle we kept from our first litter and she has never shed. Even when she was a puppy I could have a black shirt on and hold her and she know hair left me. The mother of four of our litters is a light shedding for a retriever, so that may help. From the comments we have had back from our buyes, they also have not had shedding problems. We have a litter from our English Golden Retriever, so it will be intersting to see if the non shedding hold up with them.

with any mutt, you never know what you will get and goldendoodles & labradoodles are really mutts with known parents! that being said, my guy does not shed, maybe 10% shed and that is a big difference next to my mom's golden retriever!
he is a bit over 1 yr old, he has finished his puppy coat and his adult coat keeps on coming in strong and fluffy!
i brush him weekly (should be daily but he hates it, despite brushing him when he was a puppy and rewarding him for letting me brush him. still hates it.) and sometimes i need to hit him with a rake style brush to work out some of his matted fur. that happens around areas he sits on like his paws and his belly.
i throw him in the tub when he is ripe which can happen as quickly as 1 week or in the summer when he swims a lot he can go about 4 weeks without a bath.
the breeder i got him from was a golden retriever breeder and she gets about 1-2 litters per year.

if you are looking for low shed try looking at a goldendoodle mom & a goldendoodle dad pup, they can shed less but will look different.
this website is very helpful and can help answer breeder questions and coat questions.
good luck! they are super smart, super loving and pretty energetic!

Nug, (My Goldendoodle) has never shed. The only time I notice his hair on anything it's because my goofy Lab has stepped on his hair and ripped it out.

We have two Goldendoodles, Shadow & Sunny. Mine were bred by Lovina Burkhart in Ontario - listed on Lovina was one of the first Goldendoodle breeders in N.A.. My two are 9 years old.
About the shedding - many Dood pups will 'blow their puppy fluff' as their adult coat starts to come in. My Sunny started at about 16 weeks and he shed like crazy for about two months. At that point, we started noticing a longer and courser hair growing along the top of his back. Over the next six months, the longer fur 'spread' down his body and he shed less and less. At 1 yr. old his nonshed adult coat was fully in, and it grew in length for another year. At 2 yrs his coat stopped growing at a length of 5-7 inches on his body and longer on his leg and tail feathers.
