Is anybody here feeding Orijen to their puppies?? I'm really confused with the feeding chart and I think my puppy is no getting fully satisfied, he looks hungry during the day.

giggle of the morning....  "looks hungry"  my husband and I have learned to check with each other before we fed these two a second time within the same hour.    Not only do they look hungry they will tell him I haven't fed them since last week..    It's all in the eyes

Orijen food is pretty concentrated in calories (no grains as fillers), so the calorie count probably is good.  Still, if the calculator says give more, or you just feel a bit sorry for the little guy, give him a bit more, perhaps as a light snack or training treat. ;)

He eats 3 times a day but only 2/3 of a cup because that's what the Orijen pack says, but I don't know maybe I'm reading it wrong :/

Forgot to add - very young puppies (under 8 months), grow fast, so it is a good idea to weigh them very regularly, say ever 1 - 2 weeks, so that you can adjust their food ration to match.

Young puppies (under about 3 months) need to eat 3-4 times a day, 3-6 months maybe 3 times/day, 6 months and older can usually do well on 2 times a day.

As for feeding amounts, try the dog food calculator at:

Select the pup's age, weight (in whole numbers, either pounds or kg), and the Kcal/cup info from the food bag.  Hit the Calculate button. Then,  use the MER numbers to determine approximately how much your puppy needs at his/her current weight & age.  These numbers should closely match the feeding chart from the bag of food.

A more active or actively growing puppy / dog may need more, a less active dog might need less, but puppies usually need close to the calculated amount to thrive.

Hope this helps!

I'm not familiar with Orijen, so no help from sorry!  I'd probably just try increasing the size of his meals a little if he seems hungry during the day.  I assume you still have him on 3 meals per day?
