Here we go again ...a continuing saga of Farley & the vet

Farley and I were invited to my son's house 100 kms away for Mothers' Day where we overnighted.  The next day I drove my daughter-in-law and grandson 100kms to Toronto (in the opposite direction) to catch a flight to London & Paris. LUCKY DUCKS!!!!!!  So when we were passing through my town, I dropped off Farley and asked my Farley-loving neighbours to look after him.  Well that was Monday and shortly after, all hell broke loose with his digestive system.  He would keep food down for 12 hrs and then get rid of it; the other end was non-operational, no matter how hard he tried.  Since I'd found a pile of blue jays feathers on my deck earlier in the week and noticed the family nesting in my tree was gone, I feared he'd eaten bird bones and had a blockage - or chewed a plastic toy @ my neighbour's.  It is now Sat afternoon and I'm waiting for a call from the vet where Farley has stayed having barium x-rays and blood tests.

I sure wish I'd bought pet insurance for this guy!

Stay tuned

Hi Blue Sterling  Farley's cruceate recoveryis coming along well - there's still some atrifying of his muscles to build up but he is weight bearing much better.  Two more aquatherapy sessions on the treadmill and walks are up to 20minsx3/day.  I'm also THRILLED to say the barium x-rays showed his digestive tract did not have a blockage and blood work ruled out liver and many other problems.  So it's a mystery why his bowels were not working for 6 days.  All systems are operational again and I sure hope they stay that way. Thanks for your concern, Marg & Farley

Oh Marg.  So sad!  I was thinking of Farley the other day and said I have to send Marg a message to see how he was doing and like you said, here we go again.  Have you gotten the results?  I swear they eat anything and everything.  You have to watch them like a hawk!  But you can't.  We've been forturnate that the frogs only hang out on the front porch (it's that season here)  thank god they are not in the back where we let him roam.  Will say a prayer that all is O.K.  I know I'm always thinking about insurance.  Guess I better get serious and look into it.

Oh No!

Keep us posted on Charlie's condition, I hope all goes well with him.

We all will be thinking of him.

It is not too late to get insurance now.
