YEA!  Gizmo is now walking with just a tiny limp, putting more weight on his leg.  The real milestone is that today....for the very first time.....he LAYED DOWN and ROLLED OVER on his broken leg side!  AND......he got up with his broken leg side!  HUGE!  This is the first time he has attempted to get up from that position and he did it fairly easy.  I'm sooo excited!!

We go to the vet on Saturday to get the staples taken out of the site where the pin was removed.

Oh .......... and we are going to attend a for-fun class at The Well Mannered Dog Center (our doggy daycare & boarding) called Nosework for Dogs.  It should be fun.  In the future we are hoping to do the for-fun Agility Class and take classes to become a certified Therapy dog.   Exciting stuff in store for the Giz-Meister!

Gizmo is doing GREAT!  We haven't been able to do the water therapy yet because it's been sooooo cold here.  We have been lucky if it was 60* the last week.  It's supposed to start warming up ... maybe 90* sometime this weekend, so  it's possible ...................

Laurie, it is WONDERFUL to have my baby back .... naughty times and all.  It's all about personality and he OOZES with it!  LOL.  Love my little guy.

Hey Jo, how's Gizmo doing?  Have you been able to do any water therapy with him?

That's is fantastic Jo! I know you must be glad to have your little man back to almost normal. It sounds like you and he will be very buisy in the future. Here's to many great experiences to both of you!

Gizmo says thanks for the flowers.  He would LOVE to eat them.  LOL.  I didn't even see Pemon's toy box until I reread the post.  Too funny.  As for the swimming:  the Big Lake, (Lake Michigan) which is close to us is too cold to swim in.  Although today on the news they showed a bunch of people in it.  It's 85-90* here today.  The inland lakes are much warmer, so maybe in a week or two we'll venture out during mid-day when other people are working.  Not too many people for Gizmo to be distracted.  We are going to get a small kiddie pool for Gizmo to play in, but it won't be deep enough for him to swim.  We need at least a 4' pool and one of those are pretty expensive AND his nails would cut the soft sides.  Our son has an above ground pool, but Gizmo's nails would tear the liner.  The class we want to take is Nosework for Dogs, so there won't be a lot of jumping around.   He'll be ok with that.  If he gets too crazy and it looks like a bad idea, we will leave and cancel.

Terry is doing well.  He got a little too much sun and exercise yesterday (we did a bunch of yard work), but has rested today to recuperate.    How is Mark coming along with the painting???  If it's this hot here, I can imagine how hot it is in FL.  Probably not a good idea to try and paint in a lot of heat.

By the way, I've said it before - that is Mark's coffee table, I have nothing to do with it!  Also, see Pemon's basket of toys under the table.  LOL  My two sloppy guys.

Oh Jo and Gizmo, we are so happy to hear all the good news.  I wish you were near us so you could use our pool!  Isn't it going to be a bit cold in the Lake for you?  I'm glad you asked the Doc about classes, I was going to say something because it seemed a little to soon, being that they get so excited around other dogs.    What about getting a cheap above ground pool?  I'm sure you could get something just deep enough for Gizmo and it wouldn't be too expensive.  Just until the water warms up some more.  Well, keep us in the loop.  How is Terry doing?  Pemon sends Giant hugs to all. And we're sending this bouquet for Gizmo of "Happy Sun Flowers".

Gizmo went to the vet this morning and Doc is so pleased with his progress!  The staples came out without a hitch.  Gizmo never made a peep.  Then we walked for Doc, so he could see his gait.  Doc said he's doing very well.  He moved his leg and knee back and forth and said he has 90% range of motion.  More than Doc expected.  He needs to go swimming as soon as we can ... it's a good thing it's getting warm here, cuz we have to go in with him to teach him.  Apparently all the walking we've been doing is, in part, why he's doing so well.  No doggie daycare til he's healed .... probably in the fall.  Doc says he will be healing all summer long.  We have to go back in 6-8 weeks for an evaluation.  I'm sure Gizmo will be aaaallll better by then.
