A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't been around, I've been looking after my son-in-law after he had major leg reconstruction surgery... it's been a wild ride let me tell you... I have a question for you all... Daisy and Jax both seem to have "eye discharge". We first thought it was in infection and they both got treated with drops. Now they both have "goop" in their eyes when they wake up...does anyone else have this issue? Is it normal? My vet assistant said "maybe that's just have goopy eyes"... I need your advice friends! Thanks so much!

Thank you all so much. We did end up calling the vet and he was having a slow day so we took them in. He said it just might be "seasonal allergies" like some of you suggested. Daisy seemed a little more severe so he put her on some ointment for 10 days. Jax got some drops. The vet said wait until December to see if it's still there because it was a "little yellowish".  If it continues then we move to food allergies..but how could two dogs be allergic to the same thing? The only thing they mainly eat is there food which we get from the vet... Ohhh this is just like having kids, lol. Thanks again everyone!

Don't worry I think it is normal sometimes Dudley has crustation or it can be as you say gloop but I put it down to discharge of the eyes which is going to occur due to fluid in the eyes it has got to go or show somewhere. It can be a bit oh no !! But it is only the eyes cleaning out all the muck

Dulcie has little crusties (my term is "eye boogies" LOL)every morning. My cockapoo and other poodle mixes used to have the same thing.   I just clean them off.  I would be concerned if it is a greenish or yellow color (sorry for being so graphic), but that "sleep" stuff I think is pretty normal, and as Dona says could just be a little bit of an allergy.

Indie gets eye goop & some days its worse than others, doesn't help that she has one 'cherry eye' but i just clean it away, some dogs just seem to get it more than others :(

My Bogey always has eye goop or eye crusties, since I've had him.  I am constantly cleaning out his eyes.  My foster doggie has them too, but I was told that the vet said it's common during allergy season... perhaps thats whats going on.
