Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't been around, I've been looking after my son-in-law after he had major leg reconstruction surgery... it's been a wild ride let me tell you... I have a question for you all... Daisy and Jax both seem to have "eye discharge". We first thought it was in infection and they both got treated with drops. Now they both have "goop" in their eyes when they wake up...does anyone else have this issue? Is it normal? My vet assistant said "maybe that's just have goopy eyes"... I need your advice friends! Thanks so much!

I'm sorry Grace. When you said you just wanted to "skip" it,  I thought it was just one of "those" dog stories. I'm really sorry it upset you so much. That was never my intention. Hugs

Yes Grace, it is very sad & I hate seeing it. I have already had to pull her off a couple of young pigeon, knowing that they would probably not survive but she's just doing what comes natural :(

That is a sad story. My nieces golden retriever once brought a half eaten bird into the house. My sister was horrified. I keep forgetting they hunt for prey, it's instinct. I'm so sorry you had to see that. I would have been so sad.

That is a sad story Grace! But I'm sure all of us have similar ones. It happens they are dogs.

I'm warning you, it's a sad story!  When our other dog Fletch was a puppy he use to run wild around the back yard.  This is when we lived in the house next door.  Mark use to tell him to catch the birds!  And Fletch would run out in the yard and scare them away.  Well, one day they didn't fly away quick enough and Fletch got one.  I was just coming out to put him in the house so I could go to work.  Well, he shaked it and then let go and it slammed against the fence.  Died instantly.   I was so upset.  When Mark came home I really let him have it.  "Catch the birds".  I told him if he was here he would have cried and he would have..  O.K., are you all happy?

Grace, do spill & tell us your bird story :)

As for eye drops I know what they are like to get into a dog who doesn't want them! Indie has to have them twice a day & the vet told me to do them from the back of her so that she cant see then coming towards her eye (hard to explain). The other thing I do is try to get them in when she is still sleepy, very early morning & late at night when she's reasonably calm, sometimes I miss & they end up on her cheek & I have to start again.

Again, you are all so wonderful! Just wanted to let you know. The pups don't mind a nice warm cloth to clean their eyes, but what they hate is the drops. Jax's is like a jumping salmon when you come near him. Daisy just sits nice and quiet. I really hope they don't have drops forever...yikes! We are heading back to the vet this week for a check up. ( Love taking two wild puppies to his office).

Jo, Pemon is the same way with Mark.  He has no problem with Mark cleaning his eyes.  It must make them feel really good when they are clean.

Yuk Dee.  I don't think you want to hear my bird story.  It was my other dog.  Yeah, we'll just skip it.
