Our new puppy comes this weekend. We bought Costco puppy food because it had a high rating. Anyone have experience with it? What do you all feed your Doods?

I started Trixie on the leash at 8 weeks or so...the earlier the better I think!  They don't quite understand what the heck you're doing at first, but the catch on pretty quickly.  We feed the Costco version of grain free based on our vet's's called Nature's Domain.  So far, so good.

Thanks. Will get him started on the leash. I love Maine. We have family in Unity. They have a vinyard there called Younity Vineyards.

Right away, along with potty training. Eli flipped at first but staying firm helped.

Porter is now almost 13 weeks old and doing well. He weighs in at about 17 pounds now. We have our kitchen blocked off, but allow him in the living room when we can watch him. He barks at us from the kitchen which isn't a good thing. We are working on that. I buy beef marrow bones and they keep him busy for at least 30 to 45 minutes. What age do you start leash training?

Good Sunday morning to you all ..........

Molly has been eating Costco dog food too.  Here in Canada, the food is packaged under the Kirkland label - adult dog food.  In previous posts, I mentioned how Molly had food allergies when she was younger so now she only gets the Costco food, the oatmeal treats that I make and the 'odd' store-bought special treat.

We mix our girl's food and have forever - bigger kibble and small kibble (it's actually for puppies) and the past 3-4 years we've been paying about $70 dollars a bag for each!  We just recently changed out the smaller kibble to a Costco brand food.  No problems.  We had also heard good things about it and checked the rating.  You know, the more you think about it, likely any bagged, dry dog food probably can't be all that great no matter what you pay.  Nothing is in it's original format!  Let's face it it's dried out mystery meat bits, ground, cooked, compressed, bagged in plastic.  Yikes. If we had the money, time and energy, we likely should be buying groceries and cooking for them all the time.  In a perfect world.

Jane, did you get your new Baby?  Would love to see some pictures.  We feed Pemon Pedigree Adult Complete and it seems to work out fine.

You must be so excited for the weekend to come. Only the beginning of such a wonderful relationship and so much fun! Concerning food, I have read good reviews on the Costco food and my friend swears by it. I think you just do your homework, make your decision by your own criteria, and see how puppy does with it. Looking forward to baby pics!
