A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers

Okay, to further demonstrate my obsession with my sweet Doodle Dulcie, I have compiled a list of traits that she seems to share with many of your fur babies.  Check it out, and see if your doodle has them, too,  and if you have any to add!

9)      Likes to eviscerate stuffies

10)   Likes to jump on people

11)   Loves other dogs

12)   Loves most people

Dulcie is better about the rocks now, but I had a real collection going for a while!  And Alessandra, I absolutely agree - it has been such a joy for me to be a part of this group.  I think that maybe doodle owners have their own list of common traits and that is why this is such a great community - it seems we have more in common than just our sweet doodles! And one thing that I definitely see in all of you is Big, Loving Hearts (they have to be to hold our precious doodles!)  Maybe we should start a list . . . .  lol!

I forgot about rocks. Picco used to pick up gravel, and he brought me in a heart shaped stone sweet of him

Oh Dianne what a great idea. I think I'm going to print the list and post it at home (and I should post it at work, some people would benefit of a refresher on the "Loves most people" one! ;)

I know that Pedro would object to your wording of (9) since he sees it as a service to stuffie-manity, you know, cure them of their ailments, remove appendages that in his opinion, aren't needed... My Doodle, the doctor... LOL!

The first thing that the vet told us when she met him was that he was "very vocal" which he continues to be. He talks and talks and different sounds mean different things, from the "where have you been all day" speech that I get almost every evening to the "intruder alert" when he hears a "suspicious noise" outside.

Love # 18 because he does that in the car also. Back seat of a Honda Civic, only way a Doodle can travel comfortably, bum on the seat and front legs on the floor. And # 6 makes me laugh every time, looking at his big polar bear mits reach for something or hold the kong down while he eats his kibble.

I'm not embarrassed to admit that he's a great human observer and trainer. He "treats" different people differently. His Daddy doesn't get the same kind of demands that his Mommy does or his human brother or grandparents... He knows us well and he makes us laugh all the same. I think this relates to their intelligence as it has been brought up by others and also to how fine tuned they are to our feelings and emotions.

I'm not sure it's a trait, but Pedro has done a huge thing for me which is that he has brought me to this Community where I have virtually met so many wonderful people and your Doodles, and that is a virtue that I will always thank him for.

Again, thank you for this, I love it!

Loving paws!

Thanks for reading and sharing everyone - I have really enjoyed the input!  :)  Beverly, I agree about the super intelligence.  I have had smart dogs, certainly dogs that were easily trainable, but these doodles are different.  It is weird to have those eyes look back at you like a human being, and it is difficult to explain the difference - you can practically see those wheels turning!  I feel like she can read my mind and at times it is difficult to stay ahead of her!  I have edited our above list to include the suggestions received . . .

Thanks for sharing this list!!!   I thought I was alone in watching Brandi sleeps on her back, paws up - lol.  Although water is not high on Brandi's list and she doesn't do flips, I will say I can relate to the other traits on the list.   I can add that my Brandi LOVES to dig and chase or bark at squirrels.   The additional two may be traits from her mother (the golden retriever).     Brandi does LOVE everyone, dog and people alike.   In fact, Brandi believes everyone exists for her.   Thanks again for sharing the list.  bea

We've had some great dogs over time (5 in 45 years), but the other night we were talking and my husband made the remark that what makes Eli different is that he is just so intelligent. The other dogs were wonderful, loyal and smart, but he just figures things out so easily.  Behavior that wouldn't even occur to others he does readily, good and challenging!

Wow, what a great list. My Teddie fits at least 15 of them!

Spencer is fearless too. He insists on barging ahead of Elliott no matter what - until he sees something new. At that point he turns around quickly and mouths Elliott by the neck or the ears, whatever is handiest. I used to think he was biting, but he never leaves a mark. The fearless little "leader" won't go outside without Elliott either (Elliott LOVES to go out alone......just like a parent of toddlers seeking one private trip to the bathroom LOL).
Elliott got skunked when he was just a year old, cautious and reserved as he is. He was mortified!

Better stock up on some "Skunk-away", Debbie!  Lol!

Sure wish we had some of that caution here!!  Trixie seems absolutely fearless and usually charges full steam ahead!! :O
