It's really really cold here just now, we've had all seasons in one day recenty, snow, ice, floods, hurricane winds, sunshine you name it we've had it, It's a quagmire here just now, lots and lots of rain that has turned the ground to a mub bath, which of course the doods love, i split my time between working in the shop, walking doods and washing floors.    I hate this time of year!!!   On the upside it's only 4 days until christmas and my daughter is coming home from Uni on the 24th, we're having a smallish family christmas dinner, 7 of us, I've only a little christmas shopping to do, put the tree up on Mon and hopefully all being well we'll have a lovely chilled out christmas day.   Take care everyone and hope you all have a great time.   xxx

I guess it's sort of like the old way cold cuts were made.  They used the intestines for the casing.  Don't know if they still do in some incidences.  (sp?)  What is the offal of a sheep?  Is that the tongue, heart and liver part?  We call those giblets which make a fabulous turkey gravy.  But no tongue.  Boy, New Years Eve must be a pick pocketers dream in Scotland!  Also must look real funny with the men in their skirts (kilts) hugging each other.  Such a sight!  LOL.  I'm only kidding with you Lynne.  So today your Christmas officially starts with your daughter coming home from the Uni (I take it that is the University)  and they say the people in the USA talk funny?   O.K. enough!  MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS and save me some lentils.  I'll be there for Hogmanay.  Can't wait to try that Haggis.

Lol!! It means new years eve Grace. Basically the time of year when in Scotland everyone hugs everyone else. Hence hog ma nay. I might be wrong though but that's what it means to me. Haggis ismade from the offal of a sheep with oats n barley i think and its held together traditionally in the lining of a sheep stomach, they use a synthetic lining these days. And then discarded afterwards. X

Bruce I heard from Bryan and he has been very busy, but he told me............are you ready?  Evidently they only cook the Haggis in the stomach and then they discard the stomach.  So I guess that leaves the liver and tongue if I'm right.   Now that is much better - yeah right!  Couldn't tell you about Mark Twain, I would have to google it..................and you know me, I probably will.  LOL LOL

Thanks everyone, i'm a firm believer in putting the christmas tree & decorations up at the last possible moment and they comes down by the 3rd of Jan at the latest as it's my son's birthday on the 4th and we always had a tradition that that was a way of signifying the end of christmas and the signficance of his birthday!!  All the best to you too Bryan, wishing a festive day on the other side of the world Bruce, Alessandra and Grace.   And of course all the respective doods.  I doubt we'll be having a white christmas this year,  Ruby's not seen snow yet so that's be something to look forward to, it's just wet at the moment. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year, Don't drink too much on Hogmanay Bryan!!!!
