Check my home page for pictures;  2/16 grooming  2/14 3rd in order...  It seems to me no amount of brushing or combing beforehand helps with the matting that occurs during a bath and blow-dry.    I can hardly wait for both to grow out again without the winter undercoats.

I'm with you Laurie, I can't leave Indie more than 2 days without giving her good going over. She is very much like Nug, wavy but reasonably thick (her fur!). Lol

Puk is very curly, but as it grows out it pulls some of the curl out. When he gets wet it curls right back up. He had a massive under coat, I am assuming from the Bernese Mountain Dog half. Nug's hair is much easier to maintain. It's more wavy and not as thick. I do believe the daily combs help to keep his hair from getting matted. I think if I skipped more than 2 days it would be horrible.

Also of interest to me is the bone density, easily seen without four inches of hair..   Izzi is light of bone weighing in at 50lbs.. What is the weight on Nug and Puk?

I too prefer the long hair.  Do you think her undercoating is breeding (she was breed to kennels in Montana) or do you think your daily upkeep is why you don't have an issue?   Izzi seems no more curly than Puk    Interesting!

I'm so glad that I don't have an issue with matting Lois. I love the long hair, but it really is much less time consuming when I cut them down in the summer
