It's been so long, I thought I better include some photos in case you forgot what we look like!! :D I've thought of you all quite a bit and have thought to post many, many times, but just haven't sat my butt down to do it :P Got a hello from DonMarie and Picco and well.. here we are!! We are all doing well. Can't quite remember where I left off, but I don't think I shared Quinn earning his Therapy Dog Certification. He was such a good boy during the very long testing and passed with flying colors. We spent the spring visiting the elementary school that I retired from, and Quinn had a great time being read to by the kids. Gracie is still doing her agility. I know she could easily pass the therapy certification test, but I'm not so sure she has the patience to sit still and be read to by a bunch of kids LOL so we'll leave that to Quinn for the time being.
Quinn's health has been good. His seizures seem to be about once every month to a month an a half. I have started to take him to a vet who practices Chinese Herbal Medicine and also does acupuncture. She is targeting his head for the seizures and his back and leg for some pain issues that have popped up. He seems to enjoy it; time will tell on how much it helps, but I figure it certainly can't hurt. Gracie has enjoyed his visits as well since she comes along for moral support :)
We have also started down the road to feeding raw. Just picked up my first order of a raw beef/green tripe/chicken/duck mixture. It's pretty stinky, but they both absolutely love it. I am hoping for some good things to come from this change. Supposedly, I should start to see some differences in about 3 weeks. Both pups have been having allergy issues and both have been having some urinary problems. Quinn has a high PH level and crystals in his urine. It is predicted that the raw diet will clear up the allergies and the high PH and as a bonus, the acidity and the crunchiness of the green tripe should help to remove the tartar that is beginning to build up on their teeth and get them all bright and white again!!
We purchased an RV earlier in the year. Have been on only a couple of small trips, but are looking forward to using it as our home away from the snow over this next winter. It's a whopping 39 feet with plenty of room for the 4 of us and the dogs have given it their full approval!!
So that's our update in a nutshell. Now, I need to look back at the blog posts and find out what all my doodle friends have been up to over the past few months. Quinn and Gracie say HELLO and we hope everyone is doing well and that all are healthy!
