I think we are into the "Terrible Two's"

I'm starting to think that Jax is heading into that "terrible two's" stage that my kids went through. Lately all he is doing is jumping on me when I'm working at my desk, he is stealing socks, shoes, pants, you name it and running outside with it! Last night he ate a pen, squirting ink all over the hardwood floor.. and that's while I turned my back. Today he jumped on the bathroom counter and tried to eat the dental floss.. what is going on with him?? He is usually right by my side, but now…

Does your Doodle have "Hot Spots"??? Just got back from the Groomer!

Hi Everyone!

I just had Daisy and Jax at the groomers.. oh boy were they full of matts.. even though they get a good brushing.. so they both had really short cuts ( I'll post pics soon).. but ... when I picked them up, the groomer said Jax has "hot spots". She explained that because of the type of fur he has, when he gets wet it stays by the skin and then doesn't dry so it causes a "rash like" spot.. I've never heard of this before. Does anyone's doodles get these?? She also told me…

Back from the Vet!

So back to the Vet we went today to check the doodles eyes and they both got a clean bill of health for that! Yeah!! Hopefully this won't come back. Good thing I made the appointment though because Jax did something to his leg and was favoring his one foot. Yup...Vet said he sprained his "elbow", which I think is a knee, lol. So more meds for the poor boy. I'm sure he slipped outside on a snowbank in the backyard where they love to run and play, and run and play! Good thing it's pills now…

Eye Discharge.... Help!!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't been around, I've been looking after my son-in-law after he had major leg reconstruction surgery... it's been a wild ride let me tell you... I have a question for you all... Daisy and Jax both seem to have "eye discharge". We first thought it was in infection and they both got treated with drops. Now they both have "goop" in their eyes when they wake up...does anyone else have this issue? Is it normal? My vet assistant said "maybe that's just have goopy eyes"...…

Our new collars and a 100% improvement on our walks!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I thought I would share a quick walking story. Since I've had two knee surgeries, good walking is really important to me. With the pups regular collars on the walks...the tug was on!!! Yesterday I took Daisy and Jax into our local petsmart and an amazing lady named Shelly helped us fit the pups with two "Easy Walk Harness" systems. OH MY GOODNESS...did this improve our walk. No tugging, no pulling, just an easy walk with two doodles!  She tried many…

Crate Question

I'm seriously going to be named the "question lady" lol. I really do appreciate all the support and advice. You are all my "go to" people..who better to ask right? So my question of the many of you have crates for your dogs? Are they the hard crates or the canvas fold up kind? We just want a quiet spot for the pups, not necessarily something they will be confined to. With our daughter living away from home, they will be doing alot of traveling. I thought maybe the canvas kind…

Doggie Door Advice

Happy Easter everyone!

We are looking at getting a doggie door for the pups. It says to measure them from the shoulders to the belly. I have no clue what Daisy and Jax will be grown yet, so any advice you could offer would be appreciated. Do you have a dog door? What size did you put in? Thanks so much again for all the wonderful advice and help you all offer me as a new doodle owner.

Daisy has a new little brother Jax!

So yesterday I picked up little "Microsoft" and brought him home to play with Daisy...oh goodness! They played and played together, took a nap, then played some more. Within 2 seconds of seeing him I was hooked and there was no way I was giving him back, lol. He is just precious at 9 weeks and 15 pounds. Daisy looks huge next to him. The breeder said the people that…

This may be Daisy's brother!!

So our breeder called today and she has a pup for us to see! He is a little male F1 doodle. He may be coming tomorrow for a play date with Daisy to see how things go! Wish me luck.

We are looking to add a playmate for Daisy to our family. Our breeder asked if we would consider an F1. Daisy is an F1B and doesn't shed. Can I ask how many of your doodles shed? My daughter has mild allergies, so with Daisy she is fine. Also..would you get a male or female for Daisy?
