So all the talk about the Jolly Egg (which I had never heard of before!) has made me wonder... what other toys have doodle lovers found to be enjoyed AND sturdy for their dogs? Jasper loves 'unstuffed' animals...the kind that have no stuffing in the body, but stuffing and a squeaker in the head! He will play with these for hours. He has a monkey, an elephant, & a bear. (I found them at Target, reasonably priced too!). Tennis balls get a lot of use in our house, as well as rope toys and toys… Continue

I know many of you have done the therapy dog training with your dogs. I have been told by a couple trainers that my pup, Jasper, has a perfect temperment to be a therapy dog and I really hope we can do that. We start CGC classes at the end of February. He could pass most of the test now EXCEPT for the greetings of other people and dogs. He is very well behaved at home. But when he gets around other people and dogs, he gets sooooo excited and just forgets his manners...mainly keeping all 4 paws… Continue

We are having an issue with Jasper (turning 8 months this week) peeing when he meets someone new. He gets soooooo excited that he dribbles. Today we went to a new class, and he piddled 3 times! I took him potty before we got in the car and again when we got there. Ugh...the vet says he will probably outgrow it. How many other doodles have had this issue and how old were they when they stopped? Any suggestions?? Thank you!!

Our 7 month old Jasper has been having loose stools about once a week. It never lasts long and I have been giving him some canned pumpkin to help firm things up. This last time he woke me up at 3:30 AM and had to go desperately...which has never happened before. So off to the vet we went. Vet said he is perfectly healthy and there are no parasites either. So...she said he probably has a sensitive stomach and gave us a bag of Iams low residue puppy food to try. Has anyone else dealt with a… Continue

I am wondering about the play styles of our beloved goldendoodles. We are in our 'advanced' puppy 2 class and each class ends with some puppy playtime, which my Jasper loves. When he plays, he is constantly up on his hind legs and just LOVES to pounce on the heads of other puppies...(who are all bigger than him). Some puppies are fine with his play style, but some do not appreciate his 'enthusiasm'. I watched the You Tube video of Walter and Wilbur playing (very cute!) and they play exactly… Continue

Our Jasper is 15 weeks old. He has learned to control how hard he puts his teeth on us, but is still very 'mouthy'.
How old should he be when we start the 'no teeth on people...ever' rule? I know teething is just around the corner...

We have a 12 week old male doodle that we've had for 3 weeks. He is doing beautifully with the crate, sleeping through the night without any potty problems. But during the day, he is peeing 3 times an hour! He doesnt give any sign he needs to potty, just squats and pees He is one a leash with me and does not roam free in the house. He is smart and already knows sit and lay down with just verbal commands. We go to puppy class each week. What else can I do? Any advice would be greatly… Continue
