My daughter Micky sometimes sits in the backseat when she's traveling with her husband and baby daughter, just because it's easier to tend to the baby from that position. On one of those occasions Molly the doodle had proudly taken up position in the front passenger seat. A couple cars came up from behind and passed them and the occupants were obviously cracking up laughing.
Micky wondered what they might be finding so hilarious, of course it might look a bit odd with the dog in the…
Molly's 8 months old and matting up like crazy. Here's a photo of her after her latest haircut. As well as trying to stay on top of the matting so I don't have to shave her, and to help her to keep a little cooler in the summer I gave her a quick cut. And I mean "quick". I didn't use a comb or anything, I just grabbed a handful of hair and chopped it off, digging deeper where the matts were.
I'm surprised that she still looks so long haired in this photo cause I thought I was…
I had Molly weighed yesterday and was shocked to see that she now weighs 58.2 lbs. She's 36 weeks old. (or 8 months old last week). I checked a doodle graph which is telling me that at her age she would be between 78% to 85% of her mature weight. Doing the math that would mean that she is expected to weigh between 68 and 75 lbs. when full grown.

I got five stitches in my finger, and a new respect for those canine cuspids. I was throwing the ball for Molly and neither of us were paying enough attention and I ended up throwing the ball underhand right into Molly's face, and gouged my finger on her tooth.
I've determined that it's a good idea to make sure that Molly is calmly seated before I throw the ball for her, for both our sakes.
My grand daughter Abigail is still lovin' her puppy. Though she has had to learn some self-defense tactics.
Abigail is just new to walking, and she was walking down the hallway and saw Molly coming in her direction with a couple of quick steps she moved to the wall and placed both hands on it to stabilizer herself for the impending greeting. lol
Another time she looked like she deliberately fell over and was looking expectantly for her puppy to come crawl on her like Molly…Continue
I would love to hear any suggestions, tips or warnings that someone like me who is new to the puppy scene, and the doodle world might benefit from.
I would hate to think that in my ignorance I might be engaging in some bad puppy parenting (such as giving our puppy dangerous levels of exercise).
OR, maybe you just have some fun, or cool tip to make doodling a greater pleasure. :)
Okay, maybe you might think I don't dream very big. And you would probably be right. I never fail to be surprised at the goodness God has shown toward me.
I saw a Doodle for the first time a few years back and it was love at first sight. A perfect family dog but what a price tag. ouch. It certainly wasn't in my budget.
But this year my employer gave me a generous Christmas bonus, and the timing was ideal for my daughter's household.
My daughter's husband was…Continue
