I am considering adding a goldendoodle to our family. We have 2 young children and an 8 year old beagle mix. I would really like to find a young to middle aged adult goldendoodle. I welcome any suggestions that you may have.
Thanks for your help!

Zoey was given to us after a very unfortunate event on our tenth wedding anniversary. Our five year old silver standard poodle developed "bloat" about 11:30 pm died in the emergency room of a vet in Anderson, SC. We were going to take Sadie up to see our Grandkids in Minnesota the next day. We were devastated. I was never more attached to a pet than I was to Sadie.
My wife's business manager was trying to find a place for a second goldendoodle that, because of circumstances, was not… Continue

People really did read my blog!!! thank you. And thank you for all the wonderful things you've said about us and our dogs........ and your puppies. As Zeitel's last litter leaves us I am reminded once again why we do what we do. Doodle People ( spelled YOU) are the best. As we say goodby to our Zeitel pups we are saying hello to yet another group of wonderful friends.
Sadly this is Zeitel's last litter. She has only had 3 litters but she is 7 now and we don't want to ask for anything… Continue

Hi Everyone, I am writing to share a story with y'all. Barney has a wonderful dog sitter, Judy who takes care of dogs in her home. Judy has 2 dogs of her own also. Barney has stayed there multiple times with NO incidents. He LOVES going there as he is such a social boy. This past weekend he stayed at Judy's for two days. When we picked him up we immidiately got in the car to drive to our Mn cabin. On the way Barney seemed unusually tired but didn't think anything of it as Judy had said he had… Continue

Does anyone have a frosting recipe for dog treats? I can't find anything that won't melt or spoil in the heat. Is a thin layer of Royal Icing too much sugar for a dog?

Betsy went to her first auction yesterday, outside, crowds of people, and speakers. Who would have ever thought that shy little Betsy would be able to do this, but she walked right into the crowd like the Queen she is and allowed a select few to pet her head - maximum 3 strokes. Not one bark.
Some goofball explained to us that we didn't know what we had, but she was a Navajo sheep dog, brought by the Government to the Navajo Indians from the Basque part of Spain to herd sheep. He… Continue

Last weekend we went to Smith Center in Betsy's travel home - otherwise known as my Honda Element. We picked up Betsy's great-niece, Hope and my sister Teri on the way and spent the weekend landscaping. This was a great time for Betsy and Hope, a fenced back yard, long walks with Lyndon, running free romps on the front lawn and sometimes in the neighbor's lawn when they could escape, and a lot of games of chase! These mini-vacations are the best!!

Always looking for Maxwell's litter mates. Brenda Germain of Morning Star Farm in Royalston, MA was the breeder.

Maxwell is 2 years old and all of his neighborhood dog friends are "little" dogs. He loves to play, but has a harder time with the small ones. Love to find a BIG friend in the area.

Betsy has torn the guest bed down to the sheets - circled the pillows, the shams, and the glob of comforter around her - she has a fort and there is no way that thunder is going to get her when she is in her fort!! We don't even go in the room without knocking first!!

It is with great pride we report that Betsy is afraid of flies - yes, little, tiny, buzzing house flies! Every time one gets close to her she runs, if she is outside she runs in and jumps on the bed, if she is inside she runs to hide behind me. Oh, this is going to be a long summer unless we solve this problem!!!

We love Killian so much. He is very smart and is completely potty trained. Amazingly he does not chew anything other than his toys. He has slept through the night from day one. The only problem we are having is digestive ones. Killian seems to have to do his "business" A LOT!!! It could be up to 8 times a day. We have swithched dog foods (tapering off one before introducing another). We are back on Nurisource now. The vet has checked him out and did put him on medication. Just finished with the… Continue

Finally, PETCO is coming to Hutchinson - we can hardly wait, Dillard's for Betsy. Now if she will only decide that the door is OK and walk thru it like the Queen we know she is, instead of being tugged and begged like everywhere else. Store should be open by summer.

Today is Millie's Birthday. She is now 1 year old. Boy do we love her! She is so gentle, caring and sweet. She is a big sister to Sadie our Yorkie Poo Bichon mix. They adore each other. Yes, there are some skirmishes but it's all in fun! Millie sleeps with us at night and she loves to sleep on her back with all four legs up in the air. She loves to swim--though it took her awhile to enjoy it. She was afraid at first but now she's in there everyday in the summer chasing her rubber ducky! She was… Continue

Does anyone have a groomer that they would recommend in SE CT? I've used a couple around here, but they make Buddy look like a poodle or completely bald!
