Second - Chewing...

I'm needing suggestions, but I'll admit right off the bat that I have already rejected the most practical ones, which likely makes me seem a little crazy ;P

After being a stellar pup for more than two months, Quinn started to chew things when left alone. His favorite is magazines and newspapers, which believe it or not, I'm fine with. The problem is that little-by-little, he is expanding his tastes and today I came home, after being gone about 4 hours, to find a chewed edge in…

First - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

This was the least blurry of the bunch. My husband suggested it's me, but seriously, it's the lousy camera, honest. I need a good digital 35mm SLR; it's at the top of my wish list! Anyway, Quinn hasn't yet mastered the sit-stay so there was a lot of repositioning. Gracie stuck her stay which I think explains the expression on her face. Gracie's like, "Hoo Boy..." and Quinn is…

2015 is coming to an end

Oh doodle family, we cannot believe how fast a year can come and go. Mom says that soon it will be a New Year. Brodie and I are happy with this year and really do not see a need for a new one. Mom and dad says it will be great. We have a lot of fun things happening in the New Year.. Our aunt Amy will be getting married which is really exciting. We love her fiancé (we call him uncle Guy already) he always gets down on the floor and wrestles with us. He is a big dude and can play with both…

How do you give out dog toys?

My dog and my sisters dog are constantly stealing each other's toys. I have a toy for my dog and my sister for hers-Is the only way to keep them from enjoying their OWN toys is to keep them separated?

Merry Christmas!

Hi, Evvybody!  We just wanted to stop in and wish all our doodle buddies and their Moms and Dads a Merry Christmas!  My mom is always reading what is going on in Doodledom, but has not had much time to write ‘cause it has been awful sumpin’ busy since my Grandmommy came to our town to live.  And my Dad has had to visit some doctors ‘cause he has too much fats in his…

TV Commercial

There's a Walgreen's Christmas commercial featuring a chocolate labradoodle. It's so cute. If you haven't seen this on TV, go to You Tube. I found it by simply searching for "Walgreen's Christmas commercial with dog".

Good food for a happy tummy

Hi. My name is Courtney. My little girl Phoenix is having a problem. She has not had the right food. She hates Science diet, even though our vet loves it. We tried her on a new food which she LOVES but her poops are more frequent and quite big. She is not getting her nutrients in this way. I can't keep getting her every dog food in the world. I want her to enjoy it and have her small poops which is good for her. Please help.

Coconut Oil

So I was at Walmart today and while looking for rice flour, I came across coconut oil. Back when I was dealing with itchy pups, I remembered hearing from several that they add coconut oil to their pup's food, so I bought it. Now, for those of you who use it, can you share how much and how often you add it? Thanks!

My little girl got fixed yesterday. All went fine, thank goodness. But my husband and I felt SO guilty for doing this to her.

Yesterday, she was one sick puppy. She was in a daze and wouldn't look at us and didn't care if we tried to comfort her.

However, this morning, she's up and around. She greeted us when we woke up. She's acting like her "old self". She's eating and doing her duty outside. Both good signs. The hard part will be trying to keep her quiet for 2 weeks. Isn't that… Continue

Meeting new people?

Hi everyone!

Bruce is doing so well, and picking up loads of commands already (sit, lie down, roll over, come here, stay, go to bed) for 13 weeks, but as he isn't allowed out until his last injection which is on Monday so getting him to behave around new people is proving quite difficult. I think he is needing to get out and explore!

Don't get me wrong, he's not at all vicious. He's just so excited to meet new people (friends and family) that he jumps up and tries to…

Just got my precious girl on Saturday and I'm reading so much about Socializatiin yet I'm also told she cant be around other dogs until she is fully vaccinated from Parvo. She's only had two of the four shots and then I was told by breeder to wait two more weeks before exposing her including the first vet visit. (we were privided with the last two shots. How can I possibly socialize my puppy until she is safe?

Trying to help mom...

I'm nearly three months old now and am mom's first golden doodle. I like to have a lot of attention and mom doesn't mind at all. She is teaching me things, like to be still when i am being groomed, sit, down and come. Everyday, I get to go outside and play with my sister Matti. She is a big German Shepherd, but it very tolerant of me and she is also helping mom teach me. Thanks you all for your blogs..I can tell it's helps mom learn so much about me.

Brag Time

Since we have had Wrigley, we have always used his crate for a safe place and bed when we are gone or are sleeping. While quick to quiet down once in the crate, he has never enjoyed the part of the day in which we crate him. Matt and I work night shift and while one week we are home almost every day, the other week is a very long week, not only for us, but for Wrigley, too. We hired a dog sitter to hang out with Wrig a while every night we are gone at work. She feeds him, gives him potty… Continue

Please help me predict the coat or hair on my 8 week doodle.

I placed a deposit with a breeder for a female goldendoodle before the dog was born. I have the pick of the litter but was insistent on getting a female. The litter consisted of 6 males and only 2 females.  So my delima is as follows.  While i do love all dogs and work with them every day as a dog groomer, i decided i wanted a goldendoodle for the wavy or curly coat.  I love the coat and think it grooms out well.  Now that we are at week 7 its time to pick out the dog and to take one home. I…

Hi Doodle family it is me again.. Does anyone have any experience with seizures? I was home this afternoon and witnessed Brodie having a seizure. First off it was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed. It came out of no where and listed what seemed like forever. Not only was I scared but poor Harrison was laying next to Brodie while it was happening. I rushed Brodie to the vet and by the time we got there he was back to normal. The vet took blood to check for valley fever and a few other…
