Chewing on paws

Does anyone have an issue with their golden chewing on their paws? I don't know what else to do for my Candy. We have tried changing her food but it didn't agree with her and we have tried putting cortisone cream on them but the problem persists. They are obviously bothering her because she is constantly chewing on them. Help!

I'm going to be a grandmother!!!

Our son and his wife announced to the family at dinner that they are expecting in June! Such a thrill. This is our first grandchild! Eli and Chesney stayed home all day without incident. Good dogs!!

Happy Thanksgiving to my Doodle friends!

I'm back from Pennsylvania and in spite of an exhausting trip, the move to the nursing home went well. My parents are settled in and the difference in their care is night and day from assisted living. Beware, assisted living isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially for dementia care. Finding such a top notch nursing home close by that had a room for both parents (after being on a waiting list) is truly the hand of God. Five days of travel and moving was stressful but I am sitting quietly…

Steve had his surgery. Tummy is tacked and diaphragm got cut in the process. Be aware that this major fluke can happen. Biopsy shows no diseases and points to good allergy or parasites. The parasites is ruled out due to heart worm pill and no other symptoms. We go with allergy to grain products and continue with the hypo allergic food he has been on since November 5th. Natural Balance LID - fish and potato. We keep our paws cross this prevents bloating.

Thank you again for the well… Continue

Defiant Doodle

I am both frustrated and frightened with my Trixie's attitude and behavior recently.  I think it is an adolescence thing and that she is challenging our authority (especially mine!).  Prime example:  this morning we took her to walk at her favorite place which is at some huge, fenced meadows. Because it is enclosed, we can let her off her leash and let her run, and often we meet other dogs with their parents there so she gets to play with them. She has a blast! In the past, we've been able…

How to Bathe Your Doodle Dog

First, thanks to Gracie for questioning where I was, and how I was doing.   I just saw your e-mails when I logged on.   Sunny and I are fine and I am still super-busy with my "fossil research."

I am linking a 30 second video I took a couple of days ago.   Since Sunny was a little pup-dog, he has loved the water.   He is now a bit over one year of age, and his love of water still remains.   Especially if that water is warm and has bubbles in it.

Please watch my…

Doodle Diseases

Need Help!!

We have a 2 year old first generation golden doodle that we absolutely adore. (Decker)  We thought he got into something in the yard and it was stuck in his stomach...turns out that after a few vets looked him over, they think he might have Addison's disease....Does anyone else have experience with this?  Any advice on where to get the medications that will be reasonable?  Appreciate any help we can get. Thanks

Averted disaster

Poppy narrowly averted a skunk disaster tonight. The skunk was posturing to defend herself and Poppy charged her. Maybe my yelling confused the skunk. The yard smells bad but we only have a whiff of odor inside. Boy am I lucky! But in case there is a next time, does anyone know what to do?

Suggestions ?

Any special cleaner to use for keeping the ears free from getting yeast infection? Have read where this is a common problem in doodles. Right now we are using the ear med the vet gave us to clear up the problem. Thanks !

SMILE!! Funny story

Last evening our doorbell rang around 5.30 p.m. I wasn't going to answer it because it's so embarrassing when Elliott and Spencer act like a couple of junk yard dogs, barking and carrying on so much you can't hear yourself think. But, since it was early, I thought it might be kids collecting canned goods or something other than a sales person. So I went to the door.

The boys were in fine form, jumping and barking up complete bedlam, as I opened the door just far enough to wedge my…

Anyone know breeder in New England mini doodle puppies

Our beloved daisy, age 5, died a few weeks ago from kidney ailments. We miss her terrible. Does anyone have name of a reputable breeder in northern MA, SOUTHERN NH, ME? We are looking for a mini female preferably apricot, beige. Just cannot look like our daisy.

Happy 6th Birthday to my Pedro!

What can I say? I love my Pedro... so for his birthday this year, not only will we have cake and presents and friends (Uncle Mateo and Cousin Oreo may show up, weather permitting) but I wrote down some of my thoughts about Pedro... Thank you for letting me share them with you!

Load on the way

JIm is on his way with a loaded Uhaul truck to New Hampshire. Keep him in your thoughts please for a safe trip. I wouldn't ordinarily ask but he's exhausted and like any man, he pushes himself too hard. He should get there this afternoon. Thanks.
