Does anyone have a good method for holding back ears for aeration?

Picco had a buildup of gunk in his ear that threatened to cause an infection.  The vet reached in deep and pulled out a buildup of hair (ouch ouch) and recommended pulling back his ears so moisture won't build up.  I tried tying back with a scrunchie but he shakes it out.  I guess he isn't into the "man bun" look!  Has anyone tried this and been successful?

Quinn Birthday and Bloodwork--AKA Two Great Events!

Our first GREAT EVENT is that Quinn turned THREE on Sunday :) Since he's on a restricted diet at the moment, we couldn't do the traditional cake and nice-cream, so we went with a new big stuffy. In the last year or so, Quinn has transitioned from loving to eat his stuffies to loving to sleep with them. So this large stuffy bone turned out to be a well-appreciated birthday prezy. As you can see, he is testing all possibilities. I'm sure there will be more to come... LOL…

Formal training??

Picking up our little doodle girl next week!!

Do any of you recommend formal obedience training? If so, when do you start?  There are not many options in my area for training so I am wondering if clicker training or something similar is easily done on my own.

Counting down the days to pick up our new doodle but having a hard time choosing!! HELP!

We are soon to be new doodle parents!! We love the classic doodle look. The breeder says all of them are calm and have great personalities so it just comes down to looks.

Any thoughts on what this doodle will look like??

Looking to adopt a young goldendoodle

My wife and I were in and out of Africa for nearly 7 years. We're finally settled back into a routine here in Huntington Beach, CA and ready to add a dood to our household. We're just starting to live on Retirement income, so we have a limited budget. Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated! Please contact me through this site to discuss!

Using this site on an ipad

I Love this site and I prefer it over all others, but I have to admit I haven’t been very regular for a while and it’s simply because I use my IPad or iPhone for pretty much everything and it takes forever to post anything using them.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to speed things up?

Quinn Can't Get a Break

I hesitated to post this, there has been so much sadness, but I am hoping this story has a happy ending.

Quinn just came home after spending 3 days in critical care (yes again). This time it is not his seizures. He was admitted due to protein loss and a platelet count of zero!! These are the results of a multitude of tests:

Normal kidney function and liver function;…

Gizmo is Hanging In There

Gizmo Update:  Had bloodwork this morning.  Not great, but not terrible.  His BUN was 78.7 and his Creatinine was 6.2.  On Sept. 18th (his first appointment) the BUN was 116.9 & Creatinine 5.9.  So we are making progress.  If he would drink more water his creatinine should come down more.  He is playing like a puppy and interested in rides and people and other fun stuff.  He gets tired very easily and eats when I can coax him to eat.  He's been a real lover and a velcro dog.  We don't…

Sad news

On Sunday we lost Bentley to GDV. What an awful medical nightmare. On hour we are playing fetch next hour we are rushing him to the emergency vet. Then next hour we were home with just his collar. Bentley joined our family in June of this year. He was 8 year old happy active doodle who loved to play ball. We were blessed to have him in our pack. If you are not familiar with GDV please look it up and know the signs. Surgery is the only possible option but it is not a guarantee. Brodie and… Continue
