A Community of Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Lovers
We never lost power during Sandy for more than a few second outages, and it was not as severe for us as Irene was (when two trees fell on the house and patio but did not do major damage). We just have lots of small sticks to clean up and a few more leaves to pick up. Buddy loved running around in the warm rain and enjoyed "helping" me pick up sticks yesterday. I hope no one else in this community had major problems. I know coastal areas really suffered with the flooding.
I would just like to say that my and I am sure all others in the UK"s thoughts are with everyone who has been caught up in these terrible storms to hit the USA just now . The USA as a whole will be behind these individuals to give them strength and support I am sure. Let us all hope they get the help and support that is needed.
Monty is my 3 month old golden doodle and growing every day! Just saying hi to all the goldendoodle lovers out there :)!
After etensive damage from Irene, we are seriously preparing for Sandy. I am hoping that since the leaves have already fallen we won't have as much tree damage. I do not like wind very much or lack of power which I am sure we will experience. So I may be off line for a while next week as I am sure others will be also. Good luck to all in this storms path. Take good care of you doodle.
Be careful for the next couple of days. You not only have Halloween coming up, but you have Hurricane Sandy better known as "Frankenstorm" heading your way and they are also predicting snow? My, My, My.
Take good care of yourselves and let us know you are alright!
Hugs from Pemon and Grace
i want to thank everyone for the welcome. I am finding my way around the site and enjoying all the doodle pictures and videos very much. Now, I am wondering how I can change my page name to include Buddy too. . .
(Weight updated 10-26-12) Just a reminder - Dulcie is a small medium or a mini depending on the source. She definitely has the "doodle" personality (goofy, good-natured, extremely intelligent and social with both dogs and people). The most common break-down of doodle size I've seen is the following, although the designations vary - note that the first size is sometimes called petite and sometimes mini, etc.
Petite or Mini 15-30 lbs.
Mini or Medium…Continue
After losing my faithful companion, Irish Terrier, Penny, two years ago, it became time for a new dog in the family. During the two dogless years, I underwent dialysis and a kidney transplant and my husband heart surgery. We need to get out and walk. Buddy (My grandkids named him!) has gotten us both moving again. And laughing a lot a long the way as he is quite the character with his toothy grin. Buddy is a wonderfully loving dog, though he can manage to get into a bit of mischief from time…Continue
Yup! Sounds crazy and I was the BIGGEST skeptic ever ... until this week.
One of the area vets who does chiropractic medicine on animals (dogs, horses, cats, etc) came to The Well-Mannered Dog Center to speak. He was going to look at three dogs during this event. I was asked if I wanted him to take a look at Gizmo since he walks so funny after his leg healed. (For those who don't know, Gizmo broke his leg at the growth plate on April 13th this year).
Sorry we haven't been on in a little while. My human sister, Amanda, got married this last weekend (mommy posted 2 pictures) and I wasn't invited!! I stayed at the kennel and played with the other puppies, no doodles though, but I was glad when mom and dad picked me up and took me home!!
Hi, evvybody! I am back from the farm and I sure am tuckered out. Mom and Daddy left me at Aunt Cheryl’s on Friday night. We went out to visit and first I was playing really hard with Merle and Sophie and Aunt Cheryl was throwing the tennis ball with this big slingy thing that makes it go REALLY far. I always run fast after Merle like I want the ball, but I really just want to chase Merle, and Mommy knows this ‘cause I slow up just before I get to it so Merle catches it. Then we all…Continue
I was just telling Dianne and Dulcie that I have a saying for our Community Doodle Family! (I saw this the other day on Facebook and thought of ya'll!)
FRIENDS ARE FAMILY THAT YOU CHOOSE!
Hi all! We are still around, but with three active human kids, not much time to get online and update. Howie turned 9 months old on Monday. Had a brief check-up at the vet last Saturday and weighed in at 45 lbs. He is running about 8 pounds less than our previous doodle at the same age. We enjoy him much of the time, but struggle with some bad habits he has -- mainly counter cruising when we turn our backs and swipe and grab, esp in the busy…Continue
I can't submit but the owners of our puppies can - Louis - next month - first 20 entries!
This feels like one of the most stupid questions I have ever asked in my lifetime. I have spent my life, having dogs and walking dogs, and we were all happy. Luke and I were doing well walking, until I watched Cesar's DVD on the "proper" way and found out I was doing it wrong. Learned to do it right and found out in his obedience class this week that I was once again doing it wrong. I am not too concerned and Luke could care less, as long as he gets to walk, but now I am curious. How…Continue
Molly was spayed a week last Friday and the vet said it was ok for her to start walks off lead after a week - took her out on the Saturday over the canal for a walk and she decides to play with a passing dog which side steps her and ends up in the canal - we got her home and gave her a bath but her wound has since got very red and puffy - we took her back to the vets last night and she has got an infection - back with the cone on for another week - hopefully the antibiotics will clear it up…Continue
