Does your Doodle howl some what like a Wolf ??

I am curious to find out if other Doodles howl some what like a Wolf at any time and especially at feeding times.

Sir Walter is especially vocal when waiting for food and was very vocal when he first arrived at 5 months old plus, and I do not know if he was exposed to Wolves at his original breeder or if it is something instinctive.

6 months and 43 lbs!!!!

I just weighed Faith on my scale at home by weighing me first and then picking her up and subtracting my weight from the total!  ANYWAYS, Faith has doubled her weight in 3 months, woweeeee!  43 lbs is now bigger then my 7 year old son who is 40 lbs right on!  I just can't believe it, atleast I know she is growing, eeeeek, I wonder how big she really is going to get :O

Luke has a problem that I don't know how to fix!

Seems like all I do is ask for help with Luke, and it seems like I need some advice one more time.  Let me say, beyond the puppy biting, barking and jumping, he is the best, most well-behaved and sweetest dog ever!

First, a little background.  I also have a very sweet teenage grandson that joined in the countdown for Luke coming and could hardly wait.  The first time he came down to meet him a couple weeks ago, he got down on the floor and played, but nothing out of the ordinary and…

She is spayed and raring to go!!!!

Good afternoon Dood lovers!  I haven't written for quite awhile!  Faith got spayed on the 10th and her stitches removed on the 20th!  Her surgery went well, she had both a spay and a hernia repair!  It was sooooo sad to send her and say goodbye but when we picked her up the day after she was so happy to see us, she forgot about her stitches and hopped up on me!  She gave alittle yelp but was fine after!  Her recovery was great, the first two days were the worse she kept licking her stitches…

Fletcher's Weight Chart

G'day dood friends!

I just thought to slap up Fletcher's weight chart for everyone to see.

As you can see he's gaining weight fairly steady, sometimes it's quite hard to read the measurement on the analogue bathroom scale when he's moving around and I'm on there too and then trying to deduct my weight from combined! but hey, it's close…

I'm NOT a morning pup!

Hello Doodle Cousins and Friends,

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the cooler weather. Fall has arrived in Vancouver and I like it better than hot weather because we still get the sun and no rain –though I like rain too and getting my paws muddy, heehee!- and it’s nice.

It turns out that with this change…

Update From Luke

Hi Everybody, this is Luke.  Just thought I had better check in and see how your week is going.

Things keep picking up around here and this week was really busy!  I was walking on the beach when a big wave, at least 8 inches high, came out of nowhere and attacked me.  I wanted to look cool and since I couldn’t swim, I pretended I was surfing and just rode the wave to shore, almost a foot away.

Then I met a big, big dog that was a golden retriever, just like my other…

Need a mid-week belly laugh?

If you need a REALLY good laugh today, this site will provide it.  It's a site where people post their dogs' "shameful" acts and I spotted several doodles among the culprits.       http://dog-shaming.com/

We just got Brooklyn less than 2 weeks ago, she is 2 month old. Very sweet, good puppy. She knows a lot, but I'm having trouble to stop her biting. I offer her a toy, I tell her to stop, she doesn't seem to care, still goes after my pants, clothes. When I try to walk away, she chases me. Any suggestion? Thanks!

What do most of you feed your doodles....??

I was just curious what the consesus on dog food is out there.  Jackson is on Taste of the Wild, a grain free product.  Our vet suggests when he is neutered to go to an adult formula to prevent overgrowth.  It is a little priceier than the "typical" purina etc. products...but if it's good for him I don't care.  Just am looking for others opinions on this..............weigh in guys!!!!!

Thanks

What do you think he will weigh as an adult??

We finally weighed Jackson this morning and at 5 1/2 months (born 4/11/12) he is 45lbs.  Any guesses on how big he'll get.  Both his parents were about 60 lbs.  His mom is an f1 goldendoodle and his dad a white standard poodle.   Thanks...Laurie

Dulcie's Growth Chart Update

Going backwards this week . . . . looks like the Doodle Growth Chart is right on the money, since Dulcie was 15.8 lbs. at 16 weeks and the formula is double that and give or take 5-10 lbs. in either direction. Although some say just add 10 lbs. to the 2X weight,  I think that may apply more to the larger doodles (the larger the dog, the longer they grow and toys may stop growing as young as 4 months) . I really don't think she's going to weigh that much - she would have to gain 30% of her…

Names

I'm loving some of the names of doodles I have seen on here.  Some are very unique.  Do you have a neat story on how you chose your doodle's name.  I'd love to hear some!!

Looking for Doodle Playmates

We live in Queens, New York and just brought home our 3 month old Mini-Goldendoodle Maggie.  She was driven to us from Michigan by her breeder Kimberly and Bill of Alfarata Acres in Michigan who did an AMAZING job raising these puppies and training Maggie until we could bring her home!  She is calm, smart, sweet and came to us completely housebroken.  My husband and I are IN LOVE with her!!  Everyone who meets her can't believe she's only 3 months only and already so smart and so calm!  We…

Barking and chasing cats

Hi again.  Wondering if anyone has experienced a barking issue with their Goldendoodle?  Jackson is a noisy guy.  Most of his barking is for attention or when someone comes over because he loves to play.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..............Thanks  He also likes to chase my 4 cats!!  All he wants to do is play...anyone have any luck with breaking that habit??  They hiss at him and that just gets him riled up…

World changers

You know I was thinking about how Doodles are so amazing that many are therapy and service dogs.  I was talking to my trainer today and telling him how doodles make the world a better place.  He replied  "exactly."  I think a great saying for a doodle breeder would be "changing the world one doodle at a time."
