2nd Doodle?

Hello all!

We are considering getting a second goldendoodle to give Zeus a playmate.  We went back to our original breeder and were able to get a full brother to Zeus (spotted again even!)  He has been such a great dog that I really wanted the same parents.  Zeus is now 2 and he is just amazing!  I am so spoiled and I hoping this one will be just as amazing.  Any tips on introducing them? Any tips on having two? Any tips at all?  A little nervous about two and how they will…

Ok fellow doodle lovers,

Today we took monty to get groomed, and he was pretty matted under neath his curls. The groomer lectured me (and this was not the first time) about his coat and how i cannot leave his hair long anymore. She stressed that she wants to cut it every 4 weeks! She said he has to remain short haired from now on. Now this would be ok however I love my puppy with long curly hair. I also don't agree with every 4 weeks considering I have read and heard numerous times…

Dulcie's Trip to the Nursing Homes

Boy, do I have a story to tell!  Last Friday, my mommy took me out to my Aunt Cheryl’s very early and I got to run and play and chase the tennis balls for 2 days straight in a row, ‘cause Mommy said she wanted to “wear me out”!  Then we went for our walk in the country, but we had to come home early ‘cause one of Aunt Cheryl’s baby cows was out of the fence and was running up the road away from us going “mu-u-u-h, m-u—u-uh” looking for its Mommy.   When we got to Aunt Cheryl’s, Mommy grabbed…

my story

Thank you all for your positive comments.  I hope you didn't mind my taking up so much space.

I have a few more ideas for stories to make it a series and I'd like to get them published but I don't know how to go about that yet.

Again - thank you for your comments.

I've started writing a story for my grandson. I hope chapter one fits in this space

OH WOW!  What an exciting day this is going to be!

Last night, just before my bath, my Gramps called me on the telephone.

“It’s supposed to snow tonight” he said, “there should be a white blanket of snow covering the ground by morning.”

“Can we go for a walk in the forest, Gramps, just like you promised?”

“That’s why I’m calling.  So you get right to bed…

had  both Izzi and Charlie groomed a couple of days ago..   I told them to leave Charlie's Mohawk and Izzi's tail and ears...  ROLf  with giggles  I don't have the same dogs.    I told groomer to remove Izzi's muzzle  because it is soooooo curly  it stands outwards rather than drop to define face lines..   ALso don't remove eyelashes. from either.

So sorry, because of computer crash I don't have pictures... but you can imagine.     Charlie is a Mohawk on stilts and Izzi…

Mouse puppies

I caught a mouse puppy this morning but Mommy wouldn't let me have it.  It reminded me of my stuffies but it was pretty small and wiggled. So Mommy put it in a container and took it outside.  I think it was hurt and I felt really bad about that.  When Mommy took the container into the kitchen sink to be washed, there was ANOTHER mouse puppy.  It was all soaking wet because it climbed into a pan Mommy left soaking over night. So she took that one outside too. So my job for the rest of the day…

Yes, the counter surfer struck again Saturday evening!

Shortly after having our supper we settled down to watch a movie.  About 10 minutes in, Leslie thought she heard a thump in another part of the house, but I didn't hear it so we continued with the movie.  A couple…

Doodle canoeing

I have a question I need to ask my favorite people.
Ernie and I just purchased a canoe and want to be able to take the boys with us on canoe outings. Has anyone ever taken their pups canoeing? Any tips on training them to sit in a canoe? They have never been In A boat, but love the water, just wondering if there is a good way to train them and make it a positive fun experience.

The Great Asparagus Incident - dedicated to Cousin Curly who we hope is now on the mend

This blog may contain "graphic" imagery and "coarse" language - viewer discretion is advised - LOL

For anyone concerned about this, the story ends happily for the dog involved........

Hi Everybody

A few days ago when Curly was first sick, I posted that his story was reminding me of a story from long, long ago involving my first bouvier…

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to say hi to all my friends and doodle family.  Mercy and I and her doggie sisters have had a summer that has been hetic but so far good.  I have still had some health problems but have not let that get me down.  Mercy has had a few down days as she injured her foot the other day and has had an ear infection.  I think its all on the mend now.  We are working on her certification and going to be traveling to phoenix in the near future for some more schooling for both of us.  She…

Brandi not liking the Car Rides

So I need some help here.   I did a search on this site for car rides and it seems that Doodles love car rides.   Well - Brandi - not so much.

Brandi get anxious in the car.   She starts yawning, and sometimes even wimpers.   I think it has to do with the fact that she cannot stay still.   If I make a turn or stop she falls.    I am driving slower than the speed limit.

Brandi rides in the back seat (I have a SUV).   I usually place a toy with her.   I did…

Brandi is 4 months

This Saturday Brandi hit her 4 month b-day.   I feel like 4 month is a huge crossing point.    At 4 months she is allowed to join play groups and boarding facilities.    I also heard that after 4 month her bladder can hold for a longer time.   We have not had any problems with potty training - but good to know in case we need to leave her alone for a longer time.

A day…

Oh I have a Kisser at home!

Hello Doodle Family,

Well, I don't want it to sound like I'm complaining or anything but guess what?... I got myself a "Kisser" at home... It's not like it's a drooly kisser or a licky kisser or that everytime I'm kissed I don't feel ultra loved and everything, but I just think that in our home, MOMMY is the kisser!

I sometimes feel like giving kisses -especially if Mommy has tears and I lick them to make her feel better and smile- and I definitely like licking Mommy's or…

Happy to be a member of the Golden Doodle Community

My name is Sandy and my new golden doodle puppy is Simon.  Simon is 14 weeks old and is growing fast.  He is already 20 lbs!  Simon is a mini doodle and the breeder estimated his adult weight to be 35 lbs but I think he will be more like 45 lbs.  He is a wonderful puppy who is full of personality and is so laid back.   Simon loves his "brother" Murphy, who is a 4 yr old LlasaPoo.  They play all the time which sometimes gets too much for the rest of us.  He is 90% potty trained.  We used the…

Brandi meets with her sister Cassie

Sometimes I wonder what is in Brandi's head.   Today we set up a playdate with her sister Cassie.    Cassie was adopted from the same litter.   We wanted to meet - but haven't until now.

At first it didn't seem to go well.   Brandi wanted to play - but Cassie not so much.  Then - it changed and for an hour they played.    I wonder if they…
