Brush Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good brush for their kinky fur?  Maybe there is a particular kind specially for these kinds of locks.  Bogey has wavy to curly hair.

First afternoon and evening with Faith was AMAZING!!!!!!!!  Faith got home around 5pm, she went pee on the newspaper we had laid out on the deck and then played for a bit and then we placed her in her crate for a nap, I laid down infront of it and she fell asleep!  She slept then for 1 hour!  Bedtime was around 11pm and she slept ALLLLL the way through until 5:30pm it was me who was up every half hour listening for whimpers or waiting for the call to go pee but nothing!  She is now in her…

Anyone have a solution?

Hi everyone; new issue.  Molly is smart; cute; loves everyone and all animals......when I walk her she is good as can be UNTIL we head home.  Then she turns into crazy dog, biting my arm; wrapping her leg around my leg.  I've trained dogs before, but I've never encountered this behavior.  She actually gets very snarly and out of control.  I have to wrestle her to the ground and hold her down for a minute until she calms down.  Then take her the rest of the way home.  I'm getting all the…

Rawhide Risk?

I've heard a lot of varying I thought I would turn to the people I trust and seek your insight!

A few weeks ago we were at a BBQ at a friends house with Mowgli, a yellow lab (but fully grown PUPPY) and a miniature pinscher.  The dogs were in love with each other, and it was fun to watch them play...and hilarious since they are all such varying heights, sizes, etc.  (believe it or not, Mowgli and the lab were the most scared of the maybe 10 pound min pin - who had a mean…

Happy Birthday to Me!

I can't believe I am one year old now!! I remember it like it was yesterday... my human Mommy and Daddy came and picked me up. I was already 8 weeks old, but don't remember a whole lot before that. Other than I know I loved my real Mommy and Daddy... and I had a BUNCH of brothers and sisters!

Then I went home with my humans. My Mommy held me most of the way home and…

Happy Doodle Mommys Day!!

To all the Mommys of my Doodle friends that are doing such an awesome job at raising us and cuddling with us and that are so sweet and loving.

Thank you Mamas that have human puppies and let us play with them and are also doing a beautiful job at raising them as doggie-loving humans.

And to the Mamas whose human puppies are not puppies anymore, but big humans with their own human…

Gorgeous Teddy to join our family in 2 weeks

Decided upon getting a Goldendoodle having read so many great things about them. Took the plunge yesterday and selected a beautiful 6 week old pup from a litter of 10. Have only ever had cats before due to work commitments but I am now retired and looking forward to having a constant companion. Can't wait!…

Angry older dog :-(

It's been two weeks now and already Max has made his place in our home and our hearts. He is such a good puppy. Almost completely house trained already, and so smart. He learned to sit, shake hands, and roll over already!

My only concern is his older doggy brother Taz! Our Taz is a 14 year old Llasa Apso, who is healthy and has the patience of a saint. But, he is not a fan of rough puppy play and seems quite sad now. Max is already bigger than him, so he sits on the couch and won't… Continue

Gizmo To Undergo Last Surgery

At least I hope it will be his last.  We had our vet appointment this afternoon.  The first thing Doc noticed was that he wasn't putting much weight on his leg.  Uh-oh.  They took an x-ray and saw that the rod had migrated down a little more than it should be.  So, the rod will be taken out a few weeks (2-4 weeks) early.

Gizmo goes back to the clinic on Monday morning.  Doc will operate and take the rod out.  Then, he will manipulate the leg (while Gizmo is still under…

Faith will be here in 3 more days, eeeeek am I ready???

Hello fellow dood owners, I will be officially a Doodle owner to a beautiful baby girl Faith in three more sleeps!  I've been reading up on stories that scare the poopers right out of me!  What was your experience with your new puppy let's say the first week of bringing him/her home??

Faith, as said by the owner, sleeps from 11pm until 8am straight through without wakingup or going to the potty, so I hope that doesn't change, she also said that she is the most laid back, so I really…

tip on ticks

A helpful hint from my neighborhood HOA.

I’m afraid this might be something we all need before the season is over!

Tick Removal

A nurse discovered a safe, easy way to remove ticks where

they automatically withdraw themselves when you follow her

simple instructions. Read this one as it could save you from

some major problems.

Tick Removal:

Spring is here and the ticks will soon be showing their heads.

Here is a good way to…

6 Months!

It's really amazing to watch a puppy learn and grow.  They pick up more in the first 5 months of their lives than most PEOPLE pick up in 5 years...or more.  And there is no denying the unconditional love they display for their families.  I often pet Mowgli and tell my husband "I hope he's happy with us, I hope he likes it here."  Who am I kidding?  I know how happy he is when I come home and can hear the thump of his wagging tail against his kennel which is quickly exaggerated with kisses. …

Long walks okay with a puppy?

My goldendoodle is 12 weeks old, energetic for short amounts of time, then crashes.. like a typical puppy.  Does anyone know how long of a walk you think he will be able to handle.  I'm not sure if I should push the limit with a 30-45 min. walk.. I'm afraid he will get bored and get to stubborn to continue.  Or should he be able to handle that with no probelms?

Suggestions Needed for Yard Repair

Ok ... so we have a dog.  We knew our yard would "suffer" for a while.  Gizmo became part of our family last October.  We weren't worried about the yard at that time, but knew that this Spring we would have to do something to help it.

The problem is the urine burns.  We had a beautiful yard until Gizmo.  We knew it would happen and that we would have to deal with it.  My question is .... does anyone know of a way to repair the yard or help it to not burn everytime he pees on…

Update on Gizmo's Recovery

Delete Comment

Sorry I haven't given any updates on this post about Gizmo.  He is doing well.  We are almost 3 weeks out since surgery.  He hops on three legs and has put a little weight on his leg.  Doc doesn't want him to put full weight on it yet since the rod is still in his leg.  He will remove the rod in a few weeks - a month maybe.  We go back for a re-check in about a week.  Then we'll…

Alpha Beta @$#!

After this morning, I'm pretty sure I'm Beta in my household. LOL...

I have been diligently working on Sunny Ray's leash training. If he starts to pull, I change directions. If I stop, he sits and heels. He's gotten to where he walks loosely, but still not beside or behind me. Then came this morning....

We went for our normal early morning walk. When we started to walk past the 3 mini-weenies on our block, they started barking and Sunny Ray started pulling. I changed direction.…
