Quincy update

Hi folks.  Been away from here for awhile.  Quincy is doing great.  He's 9 months old and stunning.  We take him to the farmers market on Saturday and everyone wants to pet him.  He love everyone, especially little ones.  Dudes are great.

Where does time go.

Can't believe it has been a month sense mom and I have checked in. But we have been so busy around the Shelter were we work. We have had 40 ladies and 6 children staying with us and that keeps me very busy sense my job is the "greeter". So many to check in with everyday. It's been a lot of fun this week because some of the ladies were helping dad put privacy slats in the chain link fence in my yard and I got to bug them. Dad hopes it will keep the nice old lady next door from feeding me…

My Doggie Golden Mommy

So I was thinking last night... Mommy thought I was asleep under the bed, but I was really doing a lot of thinking...I was thinking that us puppies are very lucky because we all have at least 2 Mommies and in most cases 2 Daddies, plus a whole lot of different sized humans. Some are human puppies, some are grown up humans and we also have friends that are kitty puppies, bunny puppies, turtle puppies, fishy puppies, birdie puppies... I really would like to have a whale puppy, but I still…

We're Hooked

Sunny Ray was sick all weekend. Well, kinda. I had to do a LOT of cleaning in the yard and a little in the house. Did I mention A LOT????? Other than that, he was his normal, jovial, bouncy self. Eating like a horse until I made him fast for 20 hours. Yeah... that's kind of like trying to get a cat to stay away from catnip. Sunny Ray tried counter surfing and we had to move the trash can to the top of the washer. He would just sit.... and stare at me while we ate... with those big, beautiful…

I posted a sliding show video of Pemon from Yesterday.  It was our anniversary yesterday and we made sure we got a T-Bone steak so Pemon could join in on our special dinner.  There are also some other new ones that it looks like no one is looking at.    Gotta see them!

Hey you guys...................come one, lets see some more videos or slide shows!

Those of you in the USA, I hope you are enjoying Memorial Day Weekend.

Time to shed some fur again!

Hi everybody,

Well, spring/summer weather has FINALLY reached The Netherlands. It's been a totally weird year so far, meteorologically speaking. But since about a week, warm weather has finally arrived, and now it is TOO warm for the time of year, oy vey. Anyhoo, with about 26 blistering degrees Celsius, Bailey was really carrying around way too much fur, and so she had her first of 2 haircuts of the year.

Here she is before the cut:…

Gizmo's Milestone

YEA!  Gizmo is now walking with just a tiny limp, putting more weight on his leg.  The real milestone is that today....for the very first time.....he LAYED DOWN and ROLLED OVER on his broken leg side!  AND......he got up with his broken leg side!  HUGE!  This is the first time he has attempted to get up from that position and he did it fairly easy.  I'm sooo excited!!

We go to the vet on Saturday to get the staples taken out of the site where the pin was…

More Questions...

I'm being a pain aren't I???  Well, the first week went fabulous, Faith is awesome and she goes in her crate now with no crying even when we go away!  She is now sleeping from 10 until 5:00, goes out for a pee and then I put her back in her crate and she sleeps for another hour!

Her and Caleb( my 6 year old son) love eachother to pieces and she is jsut getting soooo curly and cute, I really need to find time to download more pics!  ANYWAYS......

1.)  Faith is breathing very…

Max is almost 12 weeks and healthy...

He saw the vet today for his second puppy visit, and he has grown. He will be 12 wks on Saturday and weighed 17.8 lbs today. He was so good - even though he needed three shots. My 6 year old daughter fed him treats while the Dr. Gave the shots, he barely noticed the needles :-)

My poor little gut does get car sick though... It makes it difficult to take him for car rides. The vet said he may or may not grow outed it, it's a wait and see situation. Any tips on how to handle nausea in the… Continue

New puppy!!

Hello there! I have always had dogs growing up and in my adult life. For the past five years we have been without a dog, losing our last dog just created a void so large it took a while to heal. Over the past few months we had realized how much we missed having a dog in our life and so conversations about getting a puppy started. I knew that now that I had stopped working I could put in more time and also wanted to do something to give back to the community. I have always worked in…

Car Ramp

Tonight Gizmo learned to walk up the ramp and back down in order for him to get in the back of our SUV.  We've been lifting him, but it's getting waaaay to hard for Terry and I can't do it.  So, if he wants to go for a ride (and you KNOW he does), he has to walk into it himself.  We practiced on flat ground 3-4 times.  Then I put it on a cement block to create a slight incline and he did that 3-4 times.  The last "test" was when I put it on our porch by the front door over the one step to…

Don't we love to be woken up by our Doodles?

O.K., O.K., I have a little story I would like to share.  Sometimes, not all of the time, Pemon will come in and wake me up.  Sometimes he will come in and check if I'm sleeping and leave me along, the sweetheart.  But this morning was one of those mornings he decided he wanted me up, no matter what!  When he get's like that he will start bulldozing me with his nose.  Usually my feet and legs and then when I swing my legs out of the bed he attacks my feet!   Well, this AM he did his…

Love this dog!

We've had Hank for 7 months now and while I have had a number of dog throughout my life and loved every one of them, this dog is really something special! This breed is AMAZING!! I know it's been mentioned before, but communicating with him is almost human-like. The direct eye contact is the best. I'm sure you all must feel the same way.

Need to Treat Plants for Insects, etc.... What do you suggest?

I need to treat my plants to keep the bugs off and disease away.  I don't want to use a pesticide because Gizmo likes to wander in the garden, licking the dew off the plants or outright eating them in some cases.

What can I use that is pet friendly and still do the trick?  I didn't have this problem last year because we got Gizmo in the fall and everything was dormant - bug season was over.

I knew I'd be on here often, especially the first week!

1.)  Is it ok to leave Faith alone for about an hour (she is crate trained and goes in easy so that will be ok,but I'm just worried about animal cruelty)  I'm worrying about having time to do stuff with my son because it just seems these past 24 hours have been all about her so I wanted to spend some time with him at a park or whatever!

2.)  Is putting Faith on grass at 7 weeks (with only one set of shots) ok to do?  we…
