Eli is four months old and is experiencing separation anxiety as well as a fear of leaving the house. He will go out to potty but won't go for a walk unless Chesney is with us. It's too much for me to handle both dogs and our walks are confined to the yard. He puts his paw on the leash to prevent me from going any further and heads for the door. I can't think of anything that might have triggered this as I have been able to take him for short walks although when we turn around he…

Dear Doodle Family and Friends,
Hello! How are you? I know I’ve been a little lazy lately and not getting Mommy to write on my blog but it’s just that she’s at work every day and then the weekends seem so short... I barely can squeeze a mischief or two between my naps!
I have also performed a couple of new sew-geries. One of my Reindeer puppies that I got from Santa Claus had a pain in the bum so I removed it. Mommy put him in the ICC (Intensive Care…

Buster has gotten himself pretty filthy the last few weeks since he has joined our little clan. From my understanding, I am not supposed to wash Buster (with shampoo at east) too many times. Something can happen to the natural oils in the hair, etc, or so I've heard. I decided on Friday that he was getting just a little too stinky to handle anymore and that I had better give him a bath. I of course put this task off until Sunday afternoon. Once again Buster was a good boy. He just stood…

So the snow has gone. It FINALLY stopped raining long enough to go outside for a day or two. And WHAT have I found? All those Big, Huge yellow spots in my yard! Last year I gave Gizmo "pee pills" from the Pet Store that was supposed to remedy the situation. I'm not really sure it eliminated the problem, but I think it might have helped ... maybe.
My question is this: HOW can I repair my lawn? It was so beautiful BG (before Gizmo). I've heard putting lime down on the…

So Buster, Candace, and I thought we would take a mini adventure today given the absolutely perfect weather in the mid-Atlantic, and we drove about a half hour to Annapolis. To our delight we realized that a boat show was on-going so we decided to walk Buster down towards the boats. There was a lot of people out today and Buster was a total rock star! People could not get enough of how cute he is, and how well behaved he is for being 16 weeks. I kept telling people that we could not take…

This will be the first week Miss Murphy & I won't be visiting Eden Heights of W. Seneca Assisted Living Facility. Fri. was our regular day. The residents & even their visitors loved her so. I feel heartsick for them, t00.

It is my 2nd birthday and I am an adult. It must not be to big of a deal because I still act the same and get treated the same. Except I got to take a nap on the couch because we are on vacation in our house on wheels. I don't get to do that at home. But I do have a secret. When dad is gone over night and I can't go I get really sad so mom lets me sleep with her on dads side of the bed because it comforts me, but don't tell him…

I posted some photos yesterday of Miss Murphy's Christmas visits at the two places she visited regularly. They're gone. Will try to repost later from my home computer...

We had some bad news from JoAnn yesterday. JoAnn and Miss Murphy were members of our Goldendoodle Family. She had to put Miss Murphy down due to Leukemia. She was only about 4 1/2 years old. Miss Murphy was a therapy Doodle and brought much joy to a lot of the old and sick people. My condolences go out to Miss Murphy and family. JoAnn, you are in our thoughts.…

So Buster showed us what triumph of the canine spirit really is about today. After his horrendous day yesterday getting attacked by a mean ol' bully, he was able to recover today as if it nothing happened at all. This morning when I was taking him for his a.m. constitution, we ran in to one of his buddies. Well Buster was on his way in but he was being so playful at this point that I thought it was a good idea to take him to our little, fenced-in 'dog park' in the area so he could play with…

Hi everyone! Finnegan has developed two habits that I need to work on so I'm hoping you can provide suggestions. The first one is that he is digging his way to China in my yard. We have a fenced yard and there are dogs on each side of the fence. The two on one side seem to attract his attention the most and he is trying to burrow under the fence - he currently has his head almost through. I tell him no, go and get him and the next time I let him out, he goes right back to the spot. He has…

So today was not Buster's favorite day... I was walking him around a smaller little lake and from about 50 yards away I saw another dog. He was pretty big, maybe 75 lb. or so. As we got closer I the owner asked me if Buster was friendly. I replied that he was incredibly friendly, but he is still a little shy. I mentioned that I have been socializing him and it was going well. While I was saying that this dog all of a sudden jerked from it's owner, and the owner dropped the leash. I saw a…

I know this is a doodle blog, but I just have to say that my daughter in law's brother who is an EMT was working the medical tent at the finish line of the Boston Marathon today. He was waiting with a wheel chair for runners crossing the line when the blast went off less than 100 feet away. He rushed to the scene to help with the injured. He said it was more horrific than anything he could imagine. We are all so proud of him. Our hearts and prayers go to the victims and their…

So today Buster got to go to the reservoir for the first time. There is a pathway around it, ruff-ly 2 miles long. Buster handled it so well. He got to meet all sorts of big and little dogs, and all sorts of big and little people. I have to say, at first he was nervous to see so much activity, but soon enough he was perfectly fine. He even began to approach people and other dogs. What a brave little guy! At one point a huge dog (I mean BIG, probably 130+ lbs, I don't know the breed) came…
