Walk for a Dog App!

Hi Doodle Family!

Mommy and me follow the Groovy Goldendoodles blog, FB and Twitter and they just posted about this pawsome app:

Even though it doesn't seem that they have a presence in Canada, Mommy and I hope we can use to support one of the shelters in the US because so many of you that we love so much are there... Any suggestions?

And we thought of…

Virbac C.E.T. dental chews

DonMarie's post on the Heimlich for dogs prompted me to start this post. I just last night gave my pups a Virbac C.E.T. dental chew. After Gracie's root canal, these were recommended by her dental vet. It seems they are often recommended by vets. They are like rawhides and do have a beef hide component to them, however, they seemed less tough. They got soft and pasty quickly and are supposed to be more digestible. I researched these before ordering, and didn't see anything alarming, yet when…

Texture of and softness ... Labradoodles?

We are looking at labradoodles vs golden doodles and was wondering if one was softer than the other, texture-wise. Our preference in either is for the fleece or wavy look. Do they feel about the same?

Charlie (the cocker) is not doing well. Two weeks ago I spent most of Saturday at an emergency vet care..  All diagnostics show Kidney failure....  Both Charlie and Izzi are only 5 yrs.     Repeated test 10days later .... personal vet care believes this may be a liver problem as he is not digesting Protein ...  He was on Renal (prescription food).... and bottles of meds..   Now on homemade ground beef and rice...   with  liver meds and retention meds for fluids that surrounds all his…

Tick prevention

Since the topic of nasty disease bearing ticks has unfortunately come up, I'm heading to the woods of S.E. Missouri this summer and am concerned about tick/flea protection. I (and I’m sure others) would like some feedback on products.  And I’m curious if anyone has tried essential oils such as rose geranium?

Quinn - A new twist

We are just back from the vet and overall, everything looks good, but at 4:00 AM Sunday morning, Quinn had a seizure. He was on our bed; it woke us up and sent Gracie running for cover. The convulsions were strong, and he foamed and drooled heavily, but he didn't lose bowel or bladder control, and it lasted only about a minute. He was of course quite confused and a bit dazed for awhile afterwards, but he rebounded quickly and was acting completely normal by mid-morning.

The blood-work…

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to all our doodle friends and cousins. It's -19 here this morning. So cold I ran outside, peed, and ran back in so fast it made Mommy's head spin. Chesney on the other hand took his time. I don't get that. Mommy says it's a good day for a fire in the fireplace and a movie.

Personality differences between mini, medium, and standard doodles.....

We have a deposit down with a breeder but aren't yet sure when or exact type of Doodle we will get. There's a waiting list. We put down the possibility of all three sizes. I have been reading on this blog about the Doodles and their personality traits and I'm wondering if the doodle traits are similar between the three sizes? Can anyone shed some light on the personality traits per size of Doodle? I hear the word "goofy" and "lovable" used..... is this primarily just because of the large size… Continue
