Hi, We have a 7 month old golden doodle - Hudson who weighed 35 pounds 2 weeks ago. We were told that he should be about 50-55 pounds as an adult. I am currently feeding him Chicken Soup for the Soul for large breed puppies. I am also feeding him Grandma Mae's Country Natural for puppies. I mixed the two together. Hudson seems to prefer Grandma Mae's dogfood over the Chicken Soup but I believe that it is do to the size of the kibble. Chicken Soup is larger. So my question - being…Continue
Hi there! Had a question for anyone... wasn't sure how to post this. Does anyone know, will a breeder know when they are puppies if they will have straight or curly coats? My husband and I are getting a Dood in the next month and really would just love love love a doodle with a straighter coat, more of the retriever look. Curious!!
About a month ago we heard a stray dog howling in the middle of the night outside our door. We just recently moved into the barn that we are renovating and have allot of land, with no close neighbors. It was odd that he came up to our front porch. I peaked out the window and there was this big shaggy head with a big nose, sniffing at the window. It startled me because I couldn't see his eyes - shaggy long hair covered them. So to keep the story short - he stuck around until morning and…Continue
So sorry folks, seems a spammer got past me. I've removed them from the community, but I hope none of you responded to their request to contact them privately. If you did, I suggest you discontinue communication and report their emails as spam to your internet email provider.
Again, I'm sorry, I slipped up.
Liberty Pines Doodles in Kentucky has the Recommended Breeder logo, but I don't see them listed on the site. Do the recommended listings expire or renew or a periodic basis? Could they have been delisted? Anyone have any recent experience with this breeder?
Sending hugs and loving paws and hoping that the storm passes by without harming anyone.
I have had my f1b mini golden doodle, The Governor (we're british) for nearly 3 weeks now. We picked him up when he was 11weeks old and this weekend he'll be 14 weeks! I feel he has changed so much in that time already. He is so great with potty training, he bites like crazy but he his learning and we are giving him lots of toys to keep his mouth busy! He also has huge amounts of energy so we are getting him out and about and socialising as much as possible - it's…Continue
Had Quinn to the vet the other day so was able to get him on the scale. He is now 109 pounds. That's a 30 pound weight gain since the beginning of August when he was brought to the shelter. The vet was very pleased with EVERYTHING and I think we can finally say that Quinn is one big HEALTHY…Continue
Thanks for all the helpful tips! Buddy is growing like crazy and weighs 35 pounds. Last puppy shots today! He is still chasing our poor kitty, but she is figuring out that he can't fit underneath everything like he used to. We took him to the cabin this weekend. It's about a 4 hour drive, he did fantastic! There was so much snow, in some places deeper than him. He really had a wonderful time sniffing everything and figuring out stairs. Most importantly we really got to bond, just the…Continue
Wow what a crazy fun two weeks. Our aunt Amy blew her knee out while playing a game called soccer. Mom is not happy that she plays and is always worried that she would hurt herself and it happened. We are sad cause she has to use crutches to get around and will have surgery on Friday. The fun part is that cousin Kona and Lulu have been staying with us. They are so fun to play with. I love to play chase with Kona (Australian shepherd) and Brodie and Lulu (Rottweiler) are wrestle buddies. Mom…Continue
Have been thinking of Grace and Pemon. Last post I see from her was a few months ago. Does anyone know how she is doing?
Hi everyone, we got our doodle the end of October, its been going pretty well. I watch my grandkids, and I have some issues with Milo jumping on them. Sophie, 13 can handle him pretty good. Isaac and Delilah 9and 4 years old not so much. How can I help the kids handle Milo jumping better, any suggestion? I still have to take him out every hour or so, he doesn't seem to tell me when he has to go, help?
Hudson is our first goldendoodle. He was born on 7/5/15. We had a miniature schnauzer who died of cancer in August just shy of her 10th birthday.
We were interested in a dog that was non-hypoallergenic and did not shed. My son (17 yrs old) wanted a dog that he could play with and take on hikes. Thus Hudson.
He is a beautiful dog and I love the fact that he is not the typical color of a goldendoodle. He loves to play and go on hikes. He is definitely not like our 15…Continue
First Post! Yay! We are so excited about our sweet little doodle, Buddy Oliver. He is about 14 weeks and growing leaps and bounds every day. We also have a one year old tabby cat, Missy, and they are off to becoming great friends. Bless her heart she has really been worked over, though she asks for most of it. Buddy has been doing very well with his crate and…Continue
It's not that Gracie has ever DISLIKED her new brother, in fact it mostly seems just the opposite. His size however, has certainly been intimidating to her and she very quickly adopted evasive behaviors. When Quinn started jumping into our bed, Gracie stopped sleeping with us. I felt so guilty that I put a tall ottoman with a dog bed on top next to my side of the bed so she…Continue
Sure looks like a Doodle!
Well I have enjoyed being apart of this site and sharing moments with all the other doodle owners reading/seeing all of yours at the same time. Sadly my journey came to an end with my wonderful Goldendoodle Cookie Dec 15th 2015. We had to put her down at the age of 10. She had a super aggressive form of cancer and it was spreading super fast. We loved her so much and was one of the hardest things I had to do. We put her down in the comforts of our home. She was in her bed with me snuggling…Continue
