Trip to vet today and weigh in

Had to take Howie to the vet this afternoon after he vomited a 2nd time.  Of course being the cruiser that he is, he had helped himself Wednesday morning to half a bagel in a bag -- only part of the bag was recovered.  Then Thursday he grabbed a fiber bar and scarfed in down wrapper and all.  Being exactly one year after our drama with Jaxon, I thought it best to err on the side of caution.  He is fine, just have to make sure everything is moving through (which it seems to be), keep him on a…

Please celebrate with us in congratulating Spencer who went in the car 20 minutes to the groomers, had his puppy spaw treatment, and rode home another 20 minutes in the car without throwing up!!

Seems small, but for me it is a huge relief that he may actually grow out of it.

He ate and drank a bit before we left. He had 50 mg of gravol and 1 ginger root capsule. Neither of those worked before, but together it was successful. Thanks everyone who helped with…

If Dogs Were Teachers We'd Learn Things Like...

(I don't know who wrote this but my friend shared in on Facebook and I thought it'd be nice to share with our Doodle Family on this Friday. Loving paws to all!)

• When loved ones come home, always run to greet them;

• Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride;

• Allow the experience of…

Therapy Dog help!!

I know many of you have done the therapy dog training with your dogs. I have been told by a couple trainers that my pup, Jasper, has a perfect temperment to be a therapy dog and I really hope we can do that. We start CGC classes at the end of February. He could pass most of the test now EXCEPT for the greetings of other people and dogs. He is very well behaved at home. But when he gets around other people and dogs, he gets sooooo excited and just forgets his manners...mainly keeping all 4 paws… Continue

Mercy and Cuddles

Hi every one finally got Cuddles picked up this afternoon and her and Mercy have spent the afternoon playing and getting to know each other. They have not seen each other more than five minutes since I have had cuddles.I was worried how they would get along since I picked up cuddles after Mercy was in training and then dropped cuddles of after I picked Mercy up from training so I am amazed they are getting along so well togather. I have some concerns about Cuddle Bug and that is she is very…

Poor Finnegan

Finnegan was playing with Duncan outside in the puddles and sprained his foot. He's limping and it's swollen. Just got back from the vet with pain killers and he's on limited activity. He still wants to run around so this should be interesting. Any advice on how to keep a doodle quiet?

What a day

What a day I've had.... Mummy took Milo & I for a huge walk with our friend Sonny. It was quite an adventure, to start with I chased the Monkjack again & mum & her friend had to pick out all the brambles that I got caught up in my fur, they weren't too happy because the thorns kept stabbing their fingers. Then further on I found this black…

Howie is 1 today!

Hi all!  I'm not prepared with pictures or anything, but we are still around and Howie is happy to be one today.  I am hoping to get a couple of pictures taken and uploaded later today.  He is doing well although still a stinker is some regards.  He looks for opportunites to counter cruise, but he does recognize Mommy's serious/stern face and reluctantly responds to "leave it" -- he's our work in process.  I hope to go by the vet this weekend to grab a weight on him.  Last weigh in was Nov…

Recently Molson will get sick shortly after eating or even hours later. Without being too graphic the food is any where from slightly digested to very much digested. Does anyone else have similar issues or advise for this . Its not a daily occurrence but has happened a few times over the past 2 weeks. He does not gorge himself, and after he does it he acts as if he is fine, not lethargic or anything.  I have read if they eat too much dry food then drink water the water will cause the dry…

I may have asked this question a hundred years ago when Gizmo was a baby, but can't remember.  Sooo much has transpired since those "baby days".  LOL

Gizmo is now 17 months old now - WOW how time flies!  When he was a baby, he'd get the hiccups all the time.  I read that it's because they gulp air when playing or eating too fast and that they'd probably grow out of it.  Well, lately, it seems he gets the hiccups a lot.  His whole body jumps when he hiccups .... looks like it…

Leather furniture??

Hi everyone!  Hope your new year's going great so far! We had 60 degrees yesterday and all of the snow is gone to leave in its place plenty of mud puddles for the dogs to enjoy!  We have a sofa/loveseat in microfiber and my springer loves to lay on either end of the sofa. Over time, it's lost its sueded feel and has a shiny look that drives me crazy on the arms of the sofa. I'm thinking of getting leather and was wondering what your experience is with leather furniture and dogs.  Is there a…

Puppy on steroids?

Just weighed Spencer and he is 58 pounds! He's only 5 months old. Elliott is 67lb full grown. Anyone have thoughts on how big this "little guy" will be? Elliott has the picky grazer poodle genes. Spencer seems to be the retriever chow hound. He's not fat but he packs a powerful wallop when he jumps on you lol.

Laurie we hope you have a wonderful day.  I'm sure Ernie, Magoo, Nug and Puk will make your day a special one.

Remember this is your day and only your day and that is what makes it so special.

Love ya kiddo,

Changing of Doodle Coats

Just curious, Daphne has a rather wavy coat, and it seems the last few weeks, it looks thinner around her shoulder area and then poofs more in the back end area, how does a coat usually turn out with one like hers? I have heard they change coats, just curious??? Would love to hear how your Doodle's coat has changed!! Hers seems kinda strageley right now...I did trim her feet…

Just wanted you all to know  we have out new computer installed.  Loving it!  Have to get use to the new Keyboard.  But our Computer guy told us we picked out a good one.  Top of the line.  I can't believe how sensitive it is and how fast it moves.  Yeah!  Now I can comment more to everyone.

Big hugs,

After All the Talk This Morning ~ Snow

Yes, after all the discussion this morning on how much all of our Doodle Dogs love the snow I was forced to take this picture.   Sunny is on the little foot bridge that goes to the pond island.   I normally have nesting wild Canadian Geese on that island this time of year but they wisely decided to not do that after eyeing Sunny.…
