Cost of Grooming

I live between Dallas and Denton, TX.  I have a four year old standard golden doodle who weighs almost 50 pounds.  I first found my groomer through Petco.  When she moved to a local veterinarian's office, I followed her.  For the past three years she has charged me $40 for a full grooming(bath, nails,ears, cut, etc.)  This is done every four weeks.  Mid way between full grooming, (two weeks)  I take my dood for a brush out at no charge.  This minimizes the matting and makes it easier on the… Continue

cost of grooming

OK, I'm really hesitant to blog this, because its so personal, but hey, what the hay ! 

I'm just curious on how much it costs to groom a dood around the country and with our friends up north.  We just had Ginger groomed today and she really looks great.  Here in Horseshoe Bay, Texas we have several choices of grooming.  We can go to PetSmart, where it costs $86 US dollars and takes about 3-4 hours with the dog in a cage waiting for its turn.  Or, we can hire one of maybe 3-4 "mobile"…

Grooming question

My 10-month-old labradoodle seems to get mats all at one day none then the next several large ones.  Most of them happen around his neck area where the groomer has used thinning shears because the fur is very thick.  He also gets them where his harness rubs against the fur which he only wears on walks.  I don't even have his collar on most of the time because of mats that develop.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Also brushing and combing is a big game to him so it is extra… Continue
