Getting puppy shaved

Posted on July 19, 2010 at 4:30pm 3 Comments

Hi, I was wondering when everyone had their puppies shaved for the first time, and what setting they recommend? Patch is 6 1/2 months already! I have taken him to get groomed and trimmed around the face, but have not had him shaved yet. His hair is in a strange stage currently. The area around his front legs and chest is curly and the hair on his back is longer and more straight! I think he must be losing his puppy coat. Does most goldendoodle owners shave their dogs? Thanks for any… Continue

Has anyone noticed their doodle scratches and chews on themself? My 5 month old pup Patch does. He has some bumps and little scratches on his inner legs and stomach.

Puppy lost 2 teeth

Posted on April 16, 2010 at 9:10pm 1 Comment

Hello, I was wondering what everyone does for their pups when they are losing their teeth? My puppy was chewing on his toy and I noticed some blood on it. I looked in his mouth and I saw 2 teeth were missing! There were little holes where his teeth were, which I suppose is normal, but I can't see any new teeth growing yet. Does anyone have any suggestions on toys to use while they are losing their teeth?

Hello, I was wondering what everyone washes their pup with? How frequently are you bathing them?

so funny-only 1 day apart!! We think Clover will be about 60 pounds- her mom was 60 and dad was 75, but Clover was the runt of the litter. I wanted her to be a bit smaller, but now that I think of it, it doesn't really matter the size to me, as long as she is well trained- and shes doing awesome!! She is so smart- we are so proud of her so far!! We're taking her to classes too and she is doing wonderfully!

yes Clover is 14 weeks too! Patch is so cute! When was Patch born? Clover was born Jan 4th, and is around 25 pounds now....we were told she was going to be medium size (50-55 pounds), but Im thinking she might get a bit bigger than that? What are you expecting Patch to go to?

Hi its me again, I think what I was trying to say, is that I think your pup needs to fall asleep with you! ( I know everybody else is cringing) I don't mean in your bed, just let him fall asleep against your body on the couch. I did it for 2 nites with mine last week and now he's fine, same with my 1yr old couple of nites and they were comfortable, don't do it until he is crying in the crate then pick him up and try it

Last night, Cruz slept till 505am this morning, thats a good 7hrs, I,m pretty happy with that!
do you have any children? or grandkids, My pup comes on walks with me, I wear him in a scarf oround my body so that he still gets the fresh air that poops out even my kids.
as far as the crying goes, I usually take him out as soon as he cries, especially last week when we got him, I think he just wanted to be close to someone cause he was used to sleeping with his bro. and sisters, now he rarelly cries, just make them feel safe for the first week or so. hope this helps

Hi there, I have a doodle and also a 7wk old doodle, everytime he falls to sleep I pick him up and place him in the crate, that way he wakes up there everytime, I make sure that I let him out when he wakes up, so that he doesn't see it as a bad thing, make sure you poop him out from supper to bed, we go around 10:00pm and so does he, we do let him sleep alittle during that time but nothing longer than 30 min.
hope this helps
