The Chewer and the chewee...

Posted on February 2, 2012 at 11:00am 13 Comments

I need some advice on how to stop my one dood from chewing the other's back. It's always the same place, near the shoulder blades and this happens when they are outside playing  in our backyard. If they are out for more than 20 minutes,Phinn-who is the un neutered boy- always returns into the house with a wet, soggy back ,and some hair is always thinned out...Seamus is never the Chewee, but he is larger than Phinn. The Chewee  is definitely the alpha dog.and Seamus defers to him in everything…

Here we go again...

Well, I just returned from the hospital where I left Seamus...ANOTHER gastric obstruction, I can't believe it. He's out of surgery as of 8:00pm and the surgical tech informed me that he it was a plastic bag.

I have been so vigilant about keeping things out of their reach, but I'm feeling very defeated right now. I can't even think about the expense of all of this, again!

But what else is there to do? He's family...

They were both very winded, and jumped right into the Jeep without incident. I now have two Goldendoodles laying here,BOTH of them with torn pads on their front feet. Seamus wore…

I understand about the weather and not being able to walk thwm. It has been horrible in South Carolina this winter and this is the first year ever that I have actually skipped some walks in the evening. Both of my Doodles look at me with those sad little faces and I just have to ignore them.

I cannot wait till spring.
