Potty Training Question

Posted on December 15, 2014 at 6:25pm 6 Comments

Okay, so maybe I just don't remember well from the last time I had a puppy, but it seems as if Bo is taking a lot longer to completely house train than I remember.  He started out doing pretty well ringing the bell to go out but now he won't do that anymore.  We will go a few days accident free and then have a few very puddly days.  Sometimes I think its a seperation thing, as I will usually find a puddle after I have been downstairs to do laundry.  I take him out before i go downstairs and…

Bo's first puppy sitter

So we will be gone for two days here soon to go to a funeral, so Bo and Herbie will be staying with our neighbor.  Any tips on making the seperation easier for Bo?  I have never been away from him for more than a couple hours, and so he is with me pretty much constantly.  He gets sad and cries if I even go downstairs without him so I woory about his seperation anxiety while I am gone.  He does already know our neighbors so that helps, but any other tips to make his first time away from mom…

Snowy weekend

Posted on November 16, 2014 at 4:29pm 6 Comments

This was a very busy weekend.  Today has been fun, but the weeiend didn't start out so great.  Late on Friday mommy had to take my baby human sister to the hospital because she sounded very strange, mom says that is what seal puppies sound like, but human puppies aren't supposed to make that noise.  They were gone a really long time and got back very early in the morning.  Mommy said they gave her some breathing treatments which helped some, but yesterday she still sounded a bit funny though…

Human Puppies and people 101

Hi Doodle friends!  Just wanted to share what I hsve learned so far about my family.  Today was an exciting day for all of us because I learned to jump out of my pen!  Mom was very proud of me when she came home from dropping my human sisters off at school that even though I had jumped out of my pen, I didn't make any messes and I didn't get into anything.  However she was not proud of me later when she left to pick my humans up and came home to find a puddle on the floor, me on the kitchen,…

We didn't find Ginger until she was already at 4 1/2 months old. The picture I posted of her and I sleeping on the couch was within a few days of getting her. Unfortunately the lady we got her from wasn't very honest as it turns out. Or reliable for that matter. So we never got to see her parents or get any pictures of her when she was a baby.

When we got her at 4 1/2 months old I couldn't even brush more than four or five hairs from her. But then a few months later...BOOM! FUR BOMBS EVERYWHERE! Anyone have a loom? Teach me to use it and we can make a sweater a day! We can sell them for donations to Doodle sanctuaries and let's call the sweaters...uh... Swoodles? Dooters? OH will work on the name. But I'm sure we could make one per day!

The odd thing is that her coat seems to go through some pretty drastic changes. I'm not 100% sure if it is seasonal or growing changes yet as she isn't two years old. So a few more years of watching will answer that. But the middle of her back to the hind part of back changes. Right in the middle flattened out to short and straight as the hair on her legs and then started going back curly. While the hind part of her back had almost a heart shaped curl bunch that really stood up. But it seems to have stayed curly but not standing up as much. I've never seen another that has her coat until my wife found a picture of a senior dog sanctuary just last night that had one that was laying next to a shepard that I would have swore was her.

Thanks for the love for Ginger! :)
