So busy, but not hurting!!!!

Posted on April 27, 2017 at 12:00pm 5 Comments

Hi to all the Goldendoodle mommy's and daddy's!!  I had my hip surgery (second, first last August) at the end of February and have recovered wonderfully.  Sorry I haven't been on much...I have been living life to the fullest now!!  No pain, means more places to go and people to see.  This is not without my trusty Doodles by my side however!!!  Delilah and I have been busy.  On April 15th we participated in a NACSW (National Association of Canine Scent Work) Odor Recognition Trial....and she…

Another day, another hip

So, it's been awhile my friends.  I've been watching and reading, but not participating as much as I would like.  Last August, after a lot of thought, I had a total right hip replacement.  Now, in two weeks, I am having my other hip done, and can not wait!!!!!  This will make me able to pursue the fun things I like to do with Jackson and Delilah with far less pain!!!!  Update on the Doodles....they are being doodlely for sure.  Right before my last surgery Delilah passed her Canine Good…

Congrat's Delilah

Delilah (5 1/2 months) is now an A.K.C. Puppy Star (or visa versa!)  She did such a good job.  I even showed off a little and when asked for a sit and down, used just hand signals and she did what she needed to do! ;0 So proud.  I think she'll be my therapy dog eventually.  That is where I was headed with Jackson, but he just is too much of a "goof!" I believe. But I still hold out hope, that we will all be visiting the folks in the hospital, radiation center, and local nursing homes.  You…

Since you are into essential oils, have you tried the Flea & Tick Defense or other products recommended by Dr. Karen Becker?   Picco has sensitive skin and I don't like the thought of some of those toxic products out there. I'm going to the woods of S.E. Missouri this summer and am very concerned about ticks!

His name is Bentley. We wanted a mini because my only dog when I was in my early 20s was a GIANT black lab, Benson. He was thin at 120lbs. (His mom got out one night and nobody knows who the father was) so he was a mix. Anyways, he had bad hip dysplacia and needed surgery at 1year. He was great after that. Found an amazing vet to do the surgery without replacing the hips! But he was just too big for my 20s something (small) house. He had to stay outside a lot. I still feel bad about that :-( he lived to age 14 tho. Good for a huge dog with bad hips. So I really wanted a dog with a great temperament, smart, cute, and smaller this time. Bentley is perfect!! So excited to have found this site! Happy hunting for your new puppy!!

Hi! Yes, he (a boy) is 13 weeks old now and an Fib mini. He should top out at approx. 18-20lbs. Mom was 50/50 poodle Golden Retreiver and dad was a 10lbs. very red colored poodle. We wanted a curly coat. He doesn't shed at all. But boy does he LOVE to jump and nip/chew everything. Us, our clothing, slippers, shoes, our breakfast table legs, chair legs, pillows...EVERYTHING! He's so smart! We don't take him out yet until he's had the last of his vaccines. I'm worried abot Parovirus. Can't wait to take him out soon!!
