You're welcome Deb.  Mange would not be the problem then because Flash would still be scratching!

I had the same thing happen last year this time to my old golden girl, Bailey.   She started scratching and didn't stop for three months.  She has a blistered belly, raw elbows and tattered ears from so much scratching.  We had her on antibiotics, steroids, benedryl, claritin all kinds of holistic remedies, countless soaks and rabbit for six weeks, nothing worked.  As a last resort I took her to a vet who specialized in dermatology and she diagnosed her, to my horror,  with mange! Three shots later my 13 year old girl is completely healed and finishing out her life happy.

Welcome Deb.  Would love to see some pictures of your Doodle.

Flash! Our Goldendoodle from Timshell Farm

Flash! is now 8 1/2 years old, born on St. Paddy's Day and we love him dearly.  He now has a little sister (our circus) dog, Callie who is now a 1 1/2 year old CAVAPOOCHON - both are from Linda and Steve at Timshell Farm, now in Arizona. BEST DOGS EVER!

Flash, one of first doods from Timsel Farms in 2005.
He's been awesome, very healthy EXCEPT horrible hot spot issues, bacterial yeast issues w/in 24-36 he's of grooming. His skin literally turns dark pink red everywhere. pecial shampoo from vet helps but he's been lb steroids on and off for 3-4 years. So sad. He's licking licking, reopening wounds

Flash has developed SEVERE ALLERGIES this year ... I'm wondering if it's the food... but I'd hate to switch it ... he and Callie were always on EAGLE PACK brand cause that's what our breeder was using ... now that Flash is a senior we switched them, and Flash to BLUE BUFFALO ADULT holistic chicken and brown rice ... small bite SENIOR ... anyone else who has a DOOOD with SEVERE ALLIERGIES that he/she scratching their skin raw???? and has to be on antibiotics and steroids?  Our vet says maybe…
