Thanks Catherine, the curly coat is nice but I must say it is more work then I had expected. Gracie matts very easily and we have to have her groomed atleast every 8 weeks. I even like to get her done sooner because after 6 weeks if I miss even a day of combing her out she will have some knots and unfortunately for me she doesn't always like to stay put for a whole combing ha ha. So sometimes this can be challenging lol. I do love their funny personalities and their intelegence. These doodles will always keep our lives interesting and on the go. I was trying to remember if Gracie grew much more after 7 months. It is amazing how at the time you think you will never forget these things but do. Should have wrote them down. :) Keep posting up dates I will be curious to see if Ruby grows any more. Bye for now. Lots of Doodle Love xox
We had two Golden Retrievers before we got our Goldendoodle, Miss Murphy. Must say I still love my Miss Murphy, she is sweet, gentle, very smart and loves just about everybody. Golden Retrievers just seem to have a quality about them that makes them seem almost human...a little more so than the Goldendoodle, I think. All in all, though, I think they are quite a bit alike. And my doodle doesn't shed (well very, very little), but takes a lot more grooming. bet you are going to be very happy with your beautiful Ruby - a precious gem, I'm sure!! And, I have to agree with Colin Melville, just about every where you go you'll find folks fussing over your little darling. Miss Murphy loves it. The more attention she gets the better she likes it!!
Hi, Catherine! This is my second Dood and this new one is noting like my first! My first onelooked alot like the one Colin Melville had in his pics! I was certainly hoping for one looking like that again, but when I met them to pick her up Clover looks nothing like a Goldendoodle to me! I am rather disappointed! She is a pretty good puppy and is fun, but I love the way some of the others look! I let the breeder pick her out for me and I kind of feel like I got the runt of the litter!!! But - I still love her and I know she will grow into a good dog! I love Goldendoodles! Very smart dogs and lovey!!! I would definitely hand pick any more puppies I ever get!!! Nice to be friends with you and you are not too far away from me!!! :-)))
We have a GD pup now, different breeder, different persona but much in common: smart, fairly easy to train, eager to please, playful, loyal. Like living with two rock stars, can't go anywhere without people wanting to talk to or about them.
I have found with the doodles that they really don't shed! Also, I think the more poodle in them the less they shed! The first one I had never shed! Now my new one who is now three months old looks to be more Golden and I am sure hoping no shedding!!! Each one isso different, but you will never have all of the shedding that comes with Goldens - but I do love those dogs too!!
