Thanks so much.   Most of the time he is a good boy...

Sunny is such a good boy. Experience or no experience, I would have bet that his instincts to at least chase them would kick in, yet he stays there, watching... Beautiful Doodle Boy!

He's still growing...............we shall wait and see.  But he might never forget his previous encounter.

I suppose at the moment the birds are bigger than Sunny, so they are probably quite intimidating. Indie loves to chase crows on the fields & will kill a baby pigeon if she can seek one out in the undergrowth! Actually she will just chase any 2 or 4 legged creature with intent, it's just her natural hunting instinct.

I have a feeling that I have been lucky.   It's a Golden Retriever and Poodles natural reaction to go after birds, but these are taller than he is.   And of course he had that bad experience with a big Tom.   I found a small, dead, well chewed sparrow-type of bird in his mouth a while back; have no idea where he got it, or if he caught it.   I hope he didn't catch it...

I'm surprised he hasn't tried to hurt any of them.  Don't dogs like to get birds, just like cats?  I know our other dog Fletch did.  Mark use to have the protect the birds that came in our yard.  That was before we put the pool in and had two big trees in the back.
